INTERNSHIPS
NVH Testing Engineer Internship | Mahindra Swaraj R&D Division| Department of Data Acquisition and Fatigue Lab [May'24 - Jul'24]
• NVH Analysis and Vibration Data Acquisition: Acquired vibration data using LMS Scadas; Testxpress software and sensor installation
• Analyzed the data using Testlab software, doing FFT to study critical parameters like first-order, 1.5-order, waterfall, autopower spectra
• Performed frequency response and modal analysis to extract modal parameters, mitigated resonant conditions, and improved structure
• Executed operational deflection shapes (ODS) analysis to visualize vibration patterns under actual operating conditions to resolve issues
• Improvement of Braking Efficiency: Calibrated strain gauges on UTM using LMS to measure loads using stress strain calibration factor
• Strain gauged brake links and tie rods to measure brake loads (full bridge); pedal sensors for forces, potentiometers for displacements
• Iterated design improvements with proto team to optimize linkage thickness, vertical linkage dimensions, and disc configurations, and
hence concluded that these adjustments significantly enhance brake efficiency, but had minimal impact from tie rod diameter changes
Machine Learning Intern | INTALIGEN | Sales Prediction [Dec'23- Feb'24]
• Developed a sophisticated Gradient Boosting model using the xgboost library to predict future sales for various clients accurately
• Performed data preprocessing, EDA, and Feature Engineering to manifest critical insights for model training and strategic decision-making
• Utilized bagging, ensembling, and k-fold cross-validation to mitigate overfitting and ensure accurate predictions across diverse datasets
• Reduced validation RMSE loss to 70.5% by strategic tuning of hyperparameters such as learning rate, number of estimators, and batch size
Data analyst Intern(Onsite) | Breathe Well Being [Jun'23 - Jul'23]
• Utilized Excel, SQL,other analytical tools to develop frameworks, models, dashboards for data-driven decision making, analysed channel-
wise business funnels to classify leads into various buckets and reviewing of marketing budgets such as Google and Facebook ads
• Implemented lead tracking mechanisms for campaigns such as webinars and blog posts, providing insights for optimizing engagement
• Drove the sales team by providing data-driven insights, aligning marketing initiatives with sales objectives, thus improving sales revenue
• Accelerated growth by improved marketing resource allocation, increased organic traffic, sales team performance by actionable strategies
PROJECTS
Rubik's Cube Solver | Self Project | C++ [Aug'23-Oct'23] !
Objective: Built Rubik's Cube solver, mastering OOP, heuristic algorithms (IDA*) and advanced techniques like hashing and Black Boxing
• Designed and implemented a modular and reusable solution to real life problem by implementing object-oriented programming concepts
• Modelled a 3x3 Rubik's Cube solver using three different classes and implemented custom Hash functions for efficient storage of states
• Achieved a sub-3 second solving time for an 8-times scrambled Rubik's Cube using path finding algorithms such as BFS, DFS and IDDFS
• Applied Korf's IDA* for Rubik's Cube, achieving 10 seconds solve time after 13 scrambles, highlighting efficient algorithm implementation
UG Researcher | Autonomous Ground Vehicle Research Group, IIT Kharagpur [Apr'21 - May'22]
University Rover Challenge | The Mars Society, USA
• Designed a comprehensive rover system, including a science module for sample collection, a manipulator system, and selected motors
• Integrated advanced features such as an Ackermann drive steering system and a rocker-bogie suspension system, ensuring stability
• Tested individual parts of the rover's body in ANSYS to verify if it would hold in a real world scenario while agreeing to given constraints
• Leading a team of freshers in Mechatronics Module of AGV Research Group under Center of Excellence in Robotics Research worked
upon mars rover; selected and conducted interviews of 140+ shortlisted candidates in the mechatronics module with 400+ registrations
• Part of the controls team where implemented controllers such as MPC, Pure Pursuit, Stanley, and PID for optimal performance
Image Classification | Self Project | Python [Jun'23 - Jul'23] !
• Built a neural network model to classify the food images such as pizza, sushi or steak; trained on 450 images and tested on 150 images
• Trained the model with the Adam optimizer and used the CrossEntropy loss function to classify images to achieve an accuracy of 51%
• Used the convolutional and MaxPool layers in feature extraction blocks followed by Linear layer in the classifier block of the model
