From the four gospels write a list of all the times that Jesus
ministered healing and
note the different people, circumstances and methods that he used.
Healing a man born blind: John 9:1–11 describes Jesus healing a man who was born blind. The
healed man testified that Jesus anointed his eyes with clay and told him to wash in the pool of
Siloam.
Healing of the crippled woman on the Sabbath: Luke 13:10–17 describes Jesus healing a crippled
woman on the Sabbath.
Healing of the man with dropsy: Luke 14:1–6 describes Jesus healing a man with dropsy at the
house of a Pharisee on the Sabbath.
Restoring a man's withered hand: Mark 3:1-6 and Luke 6:6-11 describe Jesus restoring a man's
withered hand.
He visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was
a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that
Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and
heal his son, who was close to death.
When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.
“Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to
him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to
have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’
and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and
he does it.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you
believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.
Jesus raised the widow's son from the dead (Luke 7:11-18).
Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along
with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—
the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town
was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t
cry.” Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the
bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up
and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
Jesus raised the ruler's daughter from the dead (Matthew 9:18-26).
A synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died.
But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” Jesus got up and went with
him, and so did his disciples. Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding
for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to
herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take
heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at
that moment. When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy
crowd and people playing pipes, he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.”
But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took
the girl by the hand, and she got up.
