Trigonometric Assignment

1. If, secθ = 5/4 and θ is fourth quadrant angle, find tanθ.


2. Do the followings
a. Find the reference angle of the following
i. 150o
ii. 255o
b. Solve the following without using table or calculator
i. Cos 15o
ii. Sin 75o
3. If x is an acute angle and tan x = 4, find, without using calculator or
mathematical table, the exact value of the trigonometric functions sin
x and cos x.
4. If tan A= 12/5 and tan B= 4/3, where A and B are acute angles;

Without using calculators, find Sin(A+B) (Don’t convert the answer

into decimal)

5. If 5 and 5 where A is an acute angle and B is a second
quadrant angle. Without using tables or calculators find the value of

a. cos ( A+B )

b. sin ( A+ B )

mathematical tables, find

i. cos2 x

ii. tan2 x
7. (i) Find sin θ and tan θ if θ is an acute angle (0 º < θ< 90 º) and cos
θ =1/4.

(ii)Find the exact value for sin 75 º without using the mathematical
table and calculator .
8. The triangle ABC have sides AB = 2, BC =1 Angle C is 45, use sine
rule to find value of angle A.
9. Verify the identity cos θ + sin θ tan θ = sec θ.

10.If, sec θ = 5/4 and θ is fourth quadrant angle, find tan θ.


(ii) Find the exact value for the cos 75 º without using the
mathematical table and calculator.
11.IF α, β and ϒ are angles of triangle and a , b and c are the lengths of
the three sides of the opposite α, β and ϒ respectively and a = 12 , b
= 7 and c = 6 then find the measure of angle β.

12.Verify the identity 1- cos 2x = tanxsin 2x
