1. BACKGROUND: This course is delivered via distributed learning on the Army Learning Management System. This course
will focus on synchronizing the efforts (plan and integrate simulations into unit training activities) of the S3 officer and
assistant S3 from Battalion, Brigades and Brigade Combat Teams so that they can better support the maneuver commander.
The training concept will build on enhancing training using simulations in brigade and below environments, to include the use
of command and control equipment. You will learn how to apply and refine proficiency in integrating simulations within
training guidance, training plans, and training schedules. Additionally, you will be exposed to the interface between simulation
2. COURSE ABSTRACT: The course you are about to take is the 4N-SIS7 (DL), Simulation S7 course. This course contains
four module of content in which the learner progresses through 18 lessons with checks on knowledge and course
examinations. This course will provide trained personnel with an understanding of the concept of training using simulations,
unit requirements to support training, an understanding of the weakness of each training venue (live, virtual and
constructive), an understanding of the importance of proper use of the after action review process and lessons learned
program. This course will not duplicate the efforts of any other Army training programs i.e. Simulation Operations Course, etc.
3. ACCESSING COURSE MATERIALS: (NOTE: To ensure you receive credit, do not access the materials until you have
a. Logon to the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) and go to the "Self-Service" tab located on the blue horizontal menu bar; select
"My Education" from the self-service drop-down menu; and then click on the ALMS link or logo to open the ALMS.
b. Once in the ALMS, go to the 'Training" tab and locate the "Current Enrollment" link. Click on current enrollments to view
b. Follow the navigation buttons on the screen to move through the material.
d. At the completion of the lesson module, close the content window before attempting to access the examination.
e. Locate the end of course examination by clicking on the link within the course structure. If you exit the ALMS before
attempting the exam, when you return - simply re-launch the course from the "Current Enrollments" portal found on the front
page of the ALMS, or go to the "Training" tab and locate the "Enrollments" link to access the course materials.
f. Upon successful completion of the end of course examination (70% or better), close the examination window and go to the
"Training" tab and locate the "Evaluations" link to find and complete the end of course questionnaire. NOTE" You must
complete the content module, successfully pass the exam, AND complete the questionnaire in order to gain access to your
completion certificate.
a. Test Control Statement: You are primarily responsible for ensuring inappropriate disclosure/acquisition of the examination
does not occur. You are also responsible for reporting/identifying all possible test material handling situations that might lead
to inadvertent test compromise. Personnel, who may intentionally or unintentionally come in contact with sensitive test
materials, are responsible for reducing the possibility of unintentional disclosure of test items or materials (test compromise).
b. By completing this examination, you agree and will abide by the above test control statement.
c. If you fail the examination, it may take up to two business days before you will be allowed to go back into ATRRS and re-
take it.
e. Print the certificate and turn it in to your Unit Training Officer or NCO for documentation in the Digital Training Management
System (DTMS).
f. Credit in ATRRS will automatically be awarded upon passing the final examination and completion of the end of course
evaluation. To confirm credit in your ATRRS training record, go to the My Training link in AKO and click on the ATRRS portal 24
