The upside down Xmas

Scene 1: Santa’s Workshop

((The stage is set as Santa’s workshop. The elves are busy making toys, but
everything seems a little strange and upside down. The stage is set with
upside-down decorations: stockings on the floor, and a tree hanging from the
ceiling.)

Narrator:
It’s Christmas Eve, and oh dear me,
Things aren’t as they’re meant to be!
The stockings are down, the tree’s in the sky,
And Santa’s stuck on the roof, oh my!

Santa: (he gets down with his hat on sideways)

Ho ho ho, what’s going on?
Everything seems a little wrong!
But if it’s fun, then I don’t care,
Let’s make this Christmas full of flair!

Mrs. Claus:
Oh, Santa, you’re always so jolly,
But I think this time you’ve gone quite folly!
Let’s make it right, just a little bit,
Or I’ll have to use my magic kit!

(The elves giggle, and Mrs. Claus winks at them.)

Elf 1:
Our toys are upside down, oh dear,
This is the silliest time of year!
A doll with feet up in the air,
And a teddy too big for a chair!

Elf 2:
The trains go backward, what a sight!
Nothing in here is going right!
But wait, I think it’s kinda fun,
Upside-down Christmas has begun!
Scene 2: The Sleigh Riders
(The reindeer are tangled up together.)

Reindeer 1:
We tried to fly, but we got in a mess,
We’re all tangled up, we must confess!
We’re used to flying way up high,
But now we’re stuck, can’t touch the sky!

Reindeer 2:
Hooves in the air, tails on the ground,
Look at us—we’re merry and round!
We fly backwards, we spin around,
We’ll make this Christmas upside down!

Reindeer 3:
Oops! I’m upside down, I fear,
But still the silliest reindeer here!
I am used to flying way up high,
Now I can’t touch the sky!

Narrator:
Look at them hop, it’s just begun!
An upside-down Christmas makes them cheer,
We’ll figure it out before the New Year!
But I do love their funny ways,
It’ll be a Christmas full of praise!
Scene 3: The Talking Christmas Tree
(The scene changes to a living room. The Christmas tree is hanging upside
down. The children enter, looking confused.)

Elf 3:
Why is the tree up in the sky?
It’s supposed to stand, not fly so high!
Do Christmas trees now hang like bats?
And look—it’s wearing funny hats!

Christmas Tree: (speaking)

Of course I’m upside down, you see,
I’m having fun, just being me!
This Christmas is a little strange,
But I don’t mind—it’s a fun change!

Elf 4:
Well, I do love a bit of cheer,
Even if it’s strange this year!
Let’s all have fun, turn it around,
It’s Christmas joy that we have found!

Narrator:
Don’t worry, Tree, we’ll set you right,
But you do look funny hanging in the night!
I think it’s fun, I think it’s neat,
An upside-down world feels like a treat!
Snowflakes go up, instead of down,
I’d love to twirl in this strange old town!
Scene 4: The Big Fix
(Everyone gathers around, looking at the upside-down toys, tree, and
reindeer.)

Elf 5:
Santa, we can help, you know,
We’ll fix this up before you go!
Let’s fix it all right way,
And make this a Christmas day!

Elf 6:
But should we fix it? It’s so fun,
An upside-down world for everyone!
It’s silly, but it makes us smile,
Let’s keep it this way for a while!

Elf 7:
I think both is what we need,
Fun and love, that’s the Christmas seed!
If we sing a special tune,
Maybe things will change back soon!

(Everyone gathers and sings a happy song to the tune of "Jingle Bells":)

Song Lyrics:
"Upside-down, upside-down, let's turn it all around,
With laughter, love, and singing joy, we’ll bring it to the ground!
Upside-down, upside-down, everything in place,
Christmas cheer is here to stay, just look at every face!"

(As they sing, decorations start flipping right-side-up, the tree returns to the
ground, and Santa’s hat flies to his head.)

Narrator:
With a song and lots of cheer,
Everything returned to where it’s clear.
Santa smiled, the elves all danced,
Christmas was saved—what a wonderful chance!
What fun we had,
A silly Christmas, but we’re glad!
Whether upside down or right-side up,
Christmas joy will fill our cup!
Everyone:
Merry Christmas to one and all,
May laughter echo through the hall!
No matter what, near or far,
Christmas is perfect just as we are!
Whether it’s silly or just right,
Christmas is love, shining bright!
