Application of Analyzing & Visualizing Data Skills


Fundamentally, tools for analyzing and visualizing information are critical relevant in

today’s aggressive environment even for learners as myself not yet in the employment

market. This topic is my course, ‘Analyzing & Visualizing Data’ and profound knowledge of

where and how analysis and visualization skills can be used has been acquired. A major use

is in scholar studies. For example, Nguyen et al. , (2019), identified the need for data analysis

tools In biomedical research from their study on quantifying placental extracellular vesicles

using tidyNano in R. These tools not only assist in handling large volumes of data, but they

also allow one to explore the trends, which are essential in biological processes.

In addition, fun and simple tasks that could involve count and quantitative data can be

of advantage in personal projects or school works with an extra feature of giving a graphical

image of the data involved. For instance, reflecting on the sets of datasets concerning the

exoplanet data visualization as the example mentioned by Kephart et al. (2019), it becomes

clear that the visualization of these challenging scientific data can help in terms of further

findings and patterns disclosing. Such skills can be applied in different areas such as

astronomy, environmentalism and even in the health facility since health is an ever-growing

field that heavily relies on data.

In the future, these skills will enable me to secure employment in other capacities

with the pertinent field of study. Regardless of whether the person is working as a researcher

or in analytical positions in a biotechnology company, data analysis and visualization skills

will be vital. By developing and applying these skills, I will gain more professional

competency, and at the same time, expand the body of knowledge and future developments

within these fields.

What is more, the knowledge of the data analysis methodologies, for instance, these,

which are explained in the course, will also help to be ready for the future employment.

Despite the fact that, at this time, I do not have a formal employment opportunity; the skills I

have mentioned have become crucial in today’s world. Businesses of all fields appreciate

employees who are able to gather and analyze data and present it in the form of charts and

other important documents and dashboards. This goes to show the importance of learning

about data analysis in the early years of the learners’ education as a way of preparing for their

careers in the data-intensive economy of the future.

In conclusion, being still a student I am not full-time employed; however, focusing on

the course Analyzing & Visualizing Data, I state that the acquired knowledge and skills are

useful for a student’s work, one’s initiatives, and perspectives in one’s professional activity.

Not only does this help me to deal with the interpretation of data, but it also prepares me in

making use of these technical abilities to embrace the complicated world full of data.
