The prototype model for a Women Safety App focuses on building a working application with
essential features to test and validate its core functionality. It allows incremental improvements
based on feedback from users and stakeholders. Below is an overview of the prototype phases:

Phase 1: Basic Prototype

● Develop the fundamental safety features to address emergency situations.

1. User Registration and Login:

○ Simple registration process using name, email, phone number, and password.
○ Login functionality with password recovery.
○ Purpose: Authenticate and personalize the user experience.
2. SOS Button:
○ A large button on the home screen to trigger an emergency alert.
○ Sends an automated SMS with the user’s live location to pre-saved emergency
contacts.
○ Technology: Use GPS and SMSManager API for location and message
delivery.
3. Emergency Contacts Management:
○ Allow users to add, edit, or delete emergency contacts.
○ Enable saving up to three contacts in the initial phase.
○ Purpose: Establish a trusted network for emergency communication.
4. User Interface (UI):
○ Minimalistic design with a clean layout.
○ Core screens: Login, Home (with SOS button), and Profile (for managing
contacts).
● Verify SMS alerts are sent accurately with live location.
● Test the UI’s usability and ease of navigation.

Phase 2: Enhanced Prototype

● Add secondary features to improve safety and usability.

1. Shake-to-Send SOS:
○ Enable users to send an emergency alert by shaking their device.
○ Use Case: Useful in situations where accessing the SOS button is not possible.
○ Technology: Leverage the phone’s accelerometer sensor to detect shakes.
2. Fake Call Feature:
○ Simulate an incoming call to deter potential threats.
○ Allow users to set a custom name for the fake caller.
○ Use Case: Create the illusion of someone approaching or calling for help.
3. Live Location Sharing:
○ Share the user’s live location link with emergency contacts via SMS or email.
○ Purpose: Provide real-time tracking for loved ones or authorities.
4. Preloaded Emergency Numbers:
○ Include country-specific emergency numbers (e.g., police, ambulance).
○ Provide one-tap dialing for quick access.
5. Dark Mode:
○ Implement dark mode for improved usability in low-light environments.

● Test the responsiveness of shake-to-SOS and fake call features.

● Validate live location sharing accuracy and ease of use.

Phase 3: Advanced Prototype

● Introduce advanced safety features for better functionality.

1. Audio/Video Recording:
○ Automatically start recording audio or video when the SOS button is triggered.
○ Save recordings locally or upload them to cloud storage.
○ Use Case: Provide evidence in case of harassment or assault.
2. Geofencing Alerts:
○ Notify emergency contacts when the user enters or leaves predefined safe zones
(e.g., home, office).
○ Technology: Use Google Maps Geofencing API for location tracking.
3. Crowdsourced Reporting:
○ Enable users to report unsafe areas or incidents (e.g., harassment hotspots).
○ Display these reports on a map as safety heatmaps.
○ Purpose: Help users avoid unsafe locations.
4. Help Nearby Feature:
○ Notify app users within a specific radius when an SOS alert is triggered.
○ Allow nearby users to provide assistance.
○ Technology: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and geolocation services.
5. Offline Functionality:
○ Enable SOS alerts to work without internet connectivity by sending SMS-based
location data.
○ Purpose: Ensure functionality in areas with poor network coverage.

● Validate the accuracy and reliability of geofencing.

● Ensure proper functioning of recording features and crowdsourced reporting.

Phase 4: Final Prototype

● Integrate premium features, refine the app, and prepare for deployment.

1. AI-Based Threat Detection:

○ Analyze user movement patterns to detect anomalies (e.g., sudden stops,
unusual routes).
○ Trigger alerts for suspicious activities.
○ Technology: TensorFlow Lite or Firebase ML Kit for AI/ML-based analysis.
2. Wearable Device Integration:
○ Connect with smartwatches or fitness trackers to trigger SOS from wearables.
○ Technology: Google Wear OS SDK or APIs for fitness bands.
3. Community Support Forum:
○ Create a space for users to share safety tips and experiences.
○ Build a supportive network for women’s safety.
4. Subscription Plans:
○ Offer a premium plan with advanced features like:
■ Unlimited emergency contact storage.
■ Priority support and faster response times.
■ AI/ML-based safety tools.
5. Multi-Language Support:
○ Add support for multiple languages to cater to a global audience.
6. Incident Reporting System:
○ Allow users to file detailed incident reports with law enforcement agencies.
○ Attach evidence (audio, video, location data).

● Ensure scalability and reliability of AI/ML-based features.

● Verify wearable integrations and premium feature access.
