In the land of Oz

DOROTHY Oh, but I've already told you, I'm not a witch
at all -- witches are old and ugly.

GLINDA The little people who live in this land -- it's
Munchkinland. It's all right,come out and
thank her.

on a straw man, but when you go around
picking on poor little dogs --
LION Well, you didn't have to go and hit me, did you?

In a field of Poppies
LION Yes.

DOROTHY Where's Toto --
LION Dorothy!

SCARECROW Look - It's snowing! Yes, it is!
Dorothy lying among poppies -- snow falling on her -- she opens
her eyes --
DOROTHY Oh --
SCENE VII
Dorothy -- Tin Man -- Lion and Scarecrow at gate -- they ring the
bell

DOORMAN It's on the door -- as plain as the nose on my
face! It -- Oh – (hangs notice on door)
DOROTHY Why?

OZ You killed the Wicked Witch of the East. You wear the
ruby shoes which are magic. The witch is really wicked

ask to see me again until you have done your task.
OZ I am Oz, the Great and Terrible. Who are you and why
do you seek me?

SCENE IX

WITCH (voice from the outside) You'll believe in more
than that before I've finished with you. (laugh) My
army will come to the Haunted Forest! Be careful!
Dorothy I want those ruby shoes.

WIZARD Yes back where I come from there are men who
do nothing all day but good deeds. And their
hearts are no bigger than yours. But! They have
one thing you haven't got! A testimonial!
Therefore, in consideration of your kindness, I
take pleasure at this time in presenting you with a
small token of our esteem and affection.
The Tin Man listens to his watch, then holds it up to Dorothy's ear.
DOROTHY Yes...!
