(i) the ratio in which AB is divided by the Y-axis
(ii) find the coordinates of the point of intersection.

(c) A box contains 16 cards bearing numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, …, 15, 16 respectively. A card is drawn at [4]
random from the box. What is probability that the number on the card is:
(i) an odd number?
(ii) a factor of 8?
(iii) a number divisible by 3 and 4?
(iv) a perfect square number?

(a) Solve the equation 2x2 + √5x – 5 = 0. Write your answer correct to two significant places. [3]

(b) A manufacturer sells a dish washer to a wholesaler for ₹18000. The wholesaler sells it to a [3]
dealer at a profit of ₹1500 and the dealer sells it to a consumer at a profit of ₹ 2500. If the rate
of GST is 12% and assuming that all transactions occur within the same state, calculate
(i) the total amount of GST paid by the wholesaler.
(ii) the amount paid by the consumer for the dish washer.

(c) From a point on the ground, the angle of elevation of the bottom and the top of a transmission [4]
tower fixed at the top of a 20 m high building are 45 and 60 respectively. Find the height
of the tower.
