Network
Protocol
By Group 12

01 - HyperText
Transfer
Protocol (HTTP)
It is the foundation of communication
on the web, allowing browsers and
servers to exchange data. It follows a
request-response model, where the
client sends a request (like loading a
webpage), and the server responds
with the requested information. HTTP
is stateless, meaning each interaction
is independent, and uses common
methods like GET (retrieve data) and
POST (send data). It’s essential for
browsing websites, submitting forms,
and accessing online content.

02 - Point-to-
Point Protocol
(PPP)
The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) is a
data link layer protocol used to establish
a direct connection between two
devices over serial links like telephone
lines or VPNs. It encapsulates data for
transmission and supports various
network layer protocols like IPv4 and
IPv6. PPP includes authentication
mechanisms (PAP and CHAP), error
detection through CRC, and can
dynamically configure the connection
using Link Control Protocol (LCP). It also
supports multilink, allowing multiple
physical connections to be combined for
higher bandwidth. PPP is commonly used
in dial-up Internet connections, VPNs,
03 - Transmission and dedicated leased lines.

Control Protocol
(TCP)
TCP, or Transmission Control
Protocol, is like a set of instructions
for computers to share information
over a network. It makes sure the
data you send gets to the right place,
in the right order, without getting
messed up. It’s what helps things like
loading a webpage or sending an
email work smoothly.
