Learner: They are imitating a bird.

Teacher: Correct! They are imitating a bird. What do you

Learner: The bird is called “Lapay.”

Teacher: That’s correct! Lapay bird was the inspiration of

Teacher: Wow! Let us clap our hands. You did great Lapay

Teacher: You may sit now.

Teacher: Are you feeling tired? I can see some of you are
sweating.

Learner: Yes teacher!

Teacher: What should you do when you are sweating?

Learner 1: I will change clothes.

Learner 2: I will wipe my sweat with a clean cloth.

Teacher: Would you consider bathing when you are

sweating?

Learner 1: Yes teacher! Mother told me to stay clean after

playing.

Learner 2: No teacher! According to my Lola, it is not

good to take a bath when sweating because I will get sick.

Teacher: Alright! There’s a belief that we are not allowed to

take a bath immediately if we are sweating. They say that it
can shock the body and can potentially lead to health
issues.

The assumption behind the myth of waiting before bathing

after sweating stems from the belief that sudden exposure
to cold water can shock the body and potentially lead to
health issues. Some individuals worry that bathing
immediately after sweating may increase the risk of
catching a cold or worsen skin problems.
Teacher: But the question is, can you take a bath or a
shower right after sweating?

According to Dr. Ma. Via Juille Roderos-Galban, a general

physician, there’s no harm in taking a bath to relieve the
body from the heat, because that too helps us cool down.

According to studies, they show that there is no scientific

basis to support the idea that bathing after sweating is
harmful. Waiting too long to shower after sweating can be
detrimental as it allows bacteria and other microorganisms
to thrive on the skin, potentially leading to skin infections.

To ensure optimal hygiene and skin health after sweating,

experts offer the following recommendations. Let us all
Deepening read the following:
Understanding of
the Key Idea/Stem Note: Write and post these on the board.
(-- minutes)
▪ It is advisable to shower as soon as possible after
sweating to remove sweat and bacteria from the
skin.
▪ Opt for lukewarm water rather than extremely cold
or hot water to avoid shocking the body.
▪ Use a mild, moisturizing soap to cleanse the skin
without stripping away its natural oils.
▪ After showering, gently pat the skin dry with a clean
towel to avoid excessive rubbing, which can irritate
the skin.
▪ Apply a moisturizer to hydrate the skin and restore
its natural barrier function.

Teacher: Therefore, it is clear that bathing after sweating

is not harmful to the body. You can tell others who have
the same misconception.
After/Post-Lesson Proper
Activity: LUCKY STAR

Teacher: Now that you have learned that bathing when

you’re sweating is not harmful, let us have a quick game!

Teacher: I have here 7 cards. I am going to call a name.

You will pick a card. If your card has a star, you are lucky
because you won’t be answering any question. If the card
has a question, you must answer it.

Note: Make cards and write these questions.

1) True or False: Bathing when sweating is not

harmful. (Answer: True)

Making 2) Yes or No: Beth was sweating after cleaning her

Abstractions change her clothes. Is this situation correct?
(-- minutes) (Answer: No)

3) Fill in with the missing word:

It is advisable to shower immediately after sweating

to remove __________ and ___________ from the skin.

(Answer: sweat and bacteria)

4) Give me one recommendation to ensure hygiene and

skin health.

Teacher: Alright! Very good! Again, let me repeat what I

have said earlier. Bathing when sweating is not harmful to
our bodies.

Teacher: This time, let us proceed to our last activity for

Music and Arts.
