Session 1: Hope in God's Love

Theme: God's Unconditional Love

Key Verse: Romans 8:38-39 - “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers... will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Message Overview:

God’s love is the foundation of our hope, a love that surpasses all human understanding. Whether in
times of joy or sorrow, triumph or failure, God’s love is ever-present and unchanging. In life’s darkest
moments, when all seems lost, His love offers light and healing. It’s a love that reaches beyond prison
walls, beyond our mistakes, and beyond the world's judgment.

Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White beautifully captures the depth of God’s love, writing: “The love of
God is to us as a boundless, exhaustless, precious treasure, ever available and adequate to meet the
needs of the soul. It is our privilege to drink freely of the riches of His grace.” (Steps to Christ, p. 94). No
matter how deep our struggles, God’s love is sufficient to meet every need and heal every wound.

Points to Share:

1. God's Love is Unconditional: Many of us feel that our past mistakes disqualify us from God’s love.
However, Romans 8:38-39 reminds us that nothing—not our sins, not our failures, not our present
circumstances—can separate us from His love. God doesn’t love us based on our actions, but because
we are His children.

Ellen White echoes this, stating, “It is Satan’s constant effort to misrepresent the character of God... but
Christ came to reveal God as a God of love.” (Steps to Christ, p. 10). Understanding that God’s love is not
based on performance brings hope and comfort to all who feel unworthy.
2. God's Love is Transformational: God's love doesn't just comfort us, it transforms us. His love invites us
into a relationship that renews and restores us. Ellen White writes, “When Christ abides in the heart, the
whole nature is transformed. Christ's Spirit, His love, softens the heart, subdues the soul, and raises the
thoughts and desires toward God and heaven.” (Steps to Christ, p. 73).

No matter where you are or what you've done, God’s love has the power to heal your heart and change
your life. It is in experiencing His love that we can start a new chapter filled with hope and peace.

3. God’s Love Brings Hope: Knowing we are loved by God gives us hope, even in the most difficult
circumstances. Ellen White notes, “In His matchless love, Christ has opened to us a way by which we
may come back to the Father... and when we have repented of our sins, He is faithful to forgive.” (The
Desire of Ages, p. 568). The hope of being forgiven and loved by God empowers us to face each day with
courage.

4. God's Love is for Everyone: God’s love extends to all people, regardless of background or past. It is
inclusive, offering hope to the hopeless. Ellen White emphasizes that “Divine love has been stirred to its
unfathomable depths for the sake of perishing souls.” (Steps to Christ, p. 21). God's love knows no
boundaries—it reaches the prisoner, the broken, and the lost.

Conclusion:

God’s love is the source of our deepest hope. It is unconditional, transformative, and ever-present. By
trusting in His love, we can experience the healing and renewal that only He provides. This love gives us
strength in trials, comfort in pain, and hope for the future. Nothing can separate us from the love of
God.
Prayer:

"Dear Lord, thank You for Your boundless love. We are grateful that nothing can separate us from Your
love, even in our lowest moments. Help us to trust in Your love, knowing that it has the power to heal,
restore, and give us hope. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Session 2: Hope in New Beginnings

Theme: Redemption and New Life in Christ

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 - “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has
gone, the new is here!”

Message Overview:

God is a God of second chances. No matter what our past looks like, through Jesus Christ, we are offered
a fresh start, a new beginning. The power of God's grace can transform our lives and give us hope for a
better future. His promise of new life is available to anyone who seeks Him with an open heart,
regardless of their past mistakes or present struggles.

Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White speaks to the power of transformation, stating, “When Christ abides
in the heart by faith, the soul is renewed by the Spirit of God, and the moral image of God is reflected in
the character.” (Steps to Christ, p. 67). This transformation is the new beginning that Christ offers, a
fresh start where the old is gone, and a new life in Christ begins.

Points to Share:

1. God Gives Us a New Identity: When we accept Christ, we are not defined by our past mistakes,
failures, or sins. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul declares that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The
past no longer holds power over us because God, in His mercy, wipes the slate clean. We are given a
new identity as children of God, redeemed by His grace.
Ellen White echoes this sentiment: “It is a law both of the intellectual and the spiritual nature that by
beholding we become changed. The mind gradually adapts itself to the subjects upon which it is allowed
to dwell.” (The Great Controversy, p. 555). When we focus on Christ and His love, we begin to reflect His
character, and we experience this new beginning.

2. God’s Grace Makes Us Whole: God's grace is not just forgiveness, but a powerful force that heals and
restores. Through His grace, we are not just forgiven, but also made whole. Ellen White writes, “Christ
was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in
which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share.” (The
Desire of Ages, p. 25). This profound exchange gives us hope for a new life, free from guilt and shame.

3. Every Day is a New Beginning: God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), and
each day brings an opportunity to start afresh. Ellen White writes, “The Lord’s mercies are new every
morning... every moment of life is a new beginning in which the child of God can experience the power
of a new life.” (Ministry of Healing, p. 17). Every day in Christ is a chance to turn away from the past and
live according to the future God has planned.

4. God Has a Purpose for Our New Beginning: When God gives us a fresh start, it’s not just to erase our
past, but to lead us into His purpose for our lives. Even in difficult situations, like prison, God has a
purpose. He is able to turn our pain and mistakes into a testimony of His grace and power. Ellen White
reminds us that “God never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could
see the end from the beginning.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 224). Trusting in God’s purpose for our lives fills
us with hope for what lies ahead.

5. A Future Filled with Hope: Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has plans for us—plans to give us hope
and a future. No matter where we are right now, no matter the obstacles we face, God is working out
His plans for our good. Ellen White emphasizes that “In Christ, there is the promise of a new life, not
only for the life to come, but for this life now.” (Steps to Christ, p. 70). This means that God’s plan for
our lives starts now, even in our current situation.

Conclusion:

In Christ, there is always hope for a new beginning. Whether we are burdened by our past, weighed
down by our mistakes, or struggling with guilt, God offers us a fresh start. His grace transforms us into
new creations, and His mercies renew us daily. Trust in God’s promise that your life can begin anew with
Him, no matter where you are or what you’ve done. Every day, in Christ, is a chance for a fresh start
filled with hope and purpose.

Prayer:

"Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of new beginnings. We praise You for Your grace, which wipes away
our past and gives us hope for the future. Help us to trust in Your plans and to live as new creations in
Christ, filled with Your love and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Session 3: Hope in God's Strength

Theme: Strength to Endure Challenges

Key Verse: Isaiah 40:31 - “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on
wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Message Overview:

Life can be overwhelming, especially when facing trials like imprisonment, broken relationships, or
personal struggles. In these moments, our own strength may fail, but God’s strength is limitless. By
placing our hope in God, we receive the strength to persevere through the toughest challenges. His
power is made perfect in our weakness, enabling us to keep moving forward when we feel like giving up.
Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White encourages us to lean fully on God, saying, “When we feel our
weakness and unworthiness, let us take courage; for there is One who is mighty to save. He will fulfill His
purpose for us.” (Steps to Christ, p. 35). God’s strength becomes our hope when we acknowledge our
weakness and rely on His power.

Points to Share:

1. God's Strength is Made Perfect in Weakness: In our lowest moments, God’s strength becomes most
evident. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that God’s grace is sufficient for us, and His power is made
perfect in weakness. When we feel weak, God offers His strength to carry us through. He doesn’t expect
us to handle our struggles alone.

Ellen White adds, “The weaker and more helpless you know yourself to be, the stronger you will become
in His strength. You are not to depend upon your own strength or wisdom, but upon the strength of Him
who is all-powerful.” (Steps to Christ, p. 71). Instead of relying on ourselves, we can rest in the assurance
that God’s strength will see us through every trial.

2. Renewed Strength Through Hope in God: Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who place their hope in
the Lord will renew their strength. This renewal isn’t a one-time event but a continual process. As we
place our trust in God day by day, He gives us the strength to rise above our circumstances like eagles
soaring in the sky.

Ellen White emphasizes that “The way has been made for us, and it lies open to us. Christ knows how to
meet the need of every soul. We may come to Him, and in quietness and confidence find strength.” (The
Desire of Ages, p. 331). Our strength is renewed as we wait on God and trust in His ability to meet every
need.

3. Strength to Endure Hardships: Life in prison or other challenging circumstances can be physically,
emotionally, and spiritually exhausting. But God promises that we will “run and not grow weary, walk
and not faint” when we trust in Him (Isaiah 40:31). This doesn’t mean that hardships will disappear, but
that God will give us the strength to endure them with perseverance.

Ellen White reminds us, “Trials and obstacles are the Lord’s chosen methods of discipline and His
appointed conditions of success. He who reads the hearts of men knows their weaknesses, and He will
strengthen them when they rely wholly upon Him.” (The Ministry of Healing, p. 471). Even in adversity,
God is training us, shaping our character, and strengthening our faith for what lies ahead.

4. God is Our Refuge and Strength: Psalm 46:1 declares, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-
present help in trouble.” God is not distant or far away. He is always near, ready to provide the strength
we need to face each day. In moments of fear or anxiety, we can run to God as our refuge, knowing that
He will protect and empower us.

Ellen White writes, “It is the privilege of every soul to be a living channel through which God can
communicate to the world the treasures of His grace, the unsearchable riches of Christ. There is nothing
that Christ desires so much as agents who will represent to the world His Spirit and His character.”
(Steps to Christ, p. 72). As we draw strength from God, we become examples of His sustaining grace to
others, showing the world what it means to trust in Him.

5. Strength in Surrender: True strength comes not from striving in our own power but from surrendering
to God. When we surrender our will and our struggles to Him, He takes control and fills us with His
strength. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30 that when we come to Him, He will give us rest, and His yoke is
easy and His burden light.

Ellen White affirms this, saying, “He who is meek in spirit, He who in patience can suffer for Christ's sake,
has true strength.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 301). Surrender to God’s will gives us strength that is not of
this world—strength rooted in the peace that comes from trusting Him fully.
Conclusion:

In moments of weakness, exhaustion, and difficulty, we can find hope in God's strength. He is our refuge
and source of renewal. By trusting in His power, we are able to endure hardships, rise above our
circumstances, and face each day with confidence. Remember that when we feel weakest, God’s
strength is at its greatest. Surrendering to Him and relying on His strength gives us hope for today and
tomorrow.

Prayer:

"Dear Lord, we thank You for being our source of strength. In our weakest moments, we know that Your
strength is more than enough. Help us to trust in You, to lean on Your power, and to find hope in
knowing that You will carry us through every trial. Renew our strength each day, and let us soar like
eagles as we place our hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Session 4: Hope in God's Forgiveness

Theme: Forgiveness and Restoration

Key Verse: 1 John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Message Overview:

God’s forgiveness is one of the most powerful sources of hope. No matter how far we have strayed or
how many mistakes we have made, God offers forgiveness to all who come to Him with a repentant
heart. His grace wipes away our sins, restores our broken relationship with Him, and gives us the chance
to start fresh. In His forgiveness, we find healing, peace, and the promise of a new beginning.

Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White beautifully captures the essence of God’s forgiveness, saying, “Jesus
loves to have us come to Him just as we are—sinful, helpless, dependent. We may come with all our
weakness, our folly, our sinfulness, and fall at His feet in penitence.” (Steps to Christ, p. 52). God does
not reject anyone who seeks forgiveness; He welcomes us with open arms, eager to cleanse and restore
us.

Points to Share:

1. God’s Forgiveness is Available to All: The Bible tells us that no sin is too great for God to forgive. In 1
John 1:9, we are promised that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. This forgiveness is not based on how “good” we are, but on God’s mercy and grace. No
matter what our past holds—whether it’s mistakes, crimes, or personal failures—God’s forgiveness is
available to anyone who seeks it.

Ellen White affirms this, saying, “No sin is too dark for God to forgive. He stands ready to receive us,
however far we have wandered from His love.” (Steps to Christ, p. 55). This truth fills us with hope,
knowing that we can always return to God and receive His forgiveness.

2. Forgiveness Leads to Transformation: God’s forgiveness doesn’t just wipe away our sins; it changes us
from the inside out. When we experience God’s mercy, we are transformed into new creations, leaving
behind the old life of sin. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has
come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Ellen White emphasizes that God’s forgiveness brings renewal: “Through the grace of Christ, we may be
transformed in character, and thus be prepared to meet the Lord at His coming.” (The Desire of Ages, p.
641). True repentance not only leads to forgiveness but also to a life that reflects the love and grace of
God. Forgiveness is the starting point for a new, redeemed life.

3. God’s Forgiveness Brings Peace: One of the greatest gifts of forgiveness is the peace it brings. Many of
us carry the heavy burden of guilt and shame, but through God’s forgiveness, that weight is lifted. Isaiah
1:18 reminds us of the hope found in God’s mercy: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as
white as snow.” God’s forgiveness purifies us, bringing inner peace and restoring our relationship with
Him.
Ellen White writes, “We must not think that our own righteousness can bring us into harmony with God.
God invites us to come to Him and find rest in His mercy.” (Steps to Christ, p. 51). When we accept God’s
forgiveness, we can rest in His peace, knowing that our sins are fully covered by His grace.

4. God’s Forgiveness Restores Our Relationship with Him: Sin separates us from God, but through
forgiveness, our relationship with Him is restored. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross made this forgiveness
possible. Romans 5:8 tells us, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.” Even in our sin, God’s love pursued us, offering forgiveness through the
death and resurrection of Jesus.

Ellen White notes, “Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was
condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness.” (The
Desire of Ages, p. 25). Through Christ’s sacrifice, we are reconciled to God, and our broken relationship
is mended.

5. Forgiveness Gives Us Hope for the Future: God’s forgiveness not only heals our past but also gives us
hope for the future. With a clean slate, we can move forward, free from the chains of sin and guilt.
Micah 7:19 reassures us, “You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” When God forgives us, He
doesn’t hold our past against us. Instead, He gives us a future filled with hope, purpose, and the promise
of eternal life.

Ellen White encourages us, saying, “As we become partakers of His forgiveness, we have the assurance
of eternal life. And even now, the burden of our guilt is rolled away, and we are filled with the peace
that only He can give.” (Steps to Christ, p. 65). Forgiveness offers a fresh start and a future grounded in
God’s promises.

Conclusion:
God’s forgiveness is a source of profound hope. It wipes away our sins, restores our relationship with
God, and brings peace to our hearts. No matter how far we have strayed, His mercy is always available
to those who seek it with a repentant heart. In His forgiveness, we find the strength to move forward,
free from guilt and shame, and filled with hope for a future in Christ.

Prayer:

"Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of Your forgiveness. We confess our sins and ask for Your mercy to
cleanse our hearts and restore us. Help us to experience the peace that comes from knowing we are
forgiven and to live as new creations in Christ. Thank You for Your love that never fails and for giving us
hope for the future. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Session 5: Hope in God's Plan

Theme: Trusting God's Purpose for Our Lives

Key Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Message Overview:

One of the greatest sources of hope we can hold onto is knowing that God has a plan for our lives. Even
in situations where everything seems uncertain or hopeless, God is working behind the scenes. His plans
are always for our good, even when we don't understand them in the moment. Trusting in God's plan
means believing that, despite our current circumstances, He is leading us toward a future filled with
hope, peace, and purpose.

Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White offers profound insight on trusting God’s plan, saying, “God never
leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could see the end from the
beginning and discern the glory of the purpose which they are fulfilling as coworkers with Him.” (The
Ministry of Healing, p. 479). Even when we cannot see the whole picture, God’s plan is always unfolding
perfectly in our lives.

Points to Share:

1. God Has a Plan for Everyone: The promise in Jeremiah 29:11 is a message of hope for everyone.
Regardless of where we are or what we have done, God has a plan that includes restoration, healing,
and purpose. This truth is especially comforting for those who feel that their past disqualifies them from
a good future. God’s plan is not dependent on our mistakes but on His grace and love for us.

Ellen White emphasizes this truth: “Before the foundations of the earth were laid, the Father and the
Son had united in a covenant to redeem man if he should be overcome by Satan.” (The Desire of Ages, p.
834). God’s plan of redemption shows that He always had a purpose for our lives, even before we knew
Him. His desire is to lead us to salvation and a future filled with hope.

2. God's Plan is for Our Good: God’s plan is not to harm us, but to prosper us and give us hope and a
future. Even when life seems filled with pain or uncertainty, we can trust that God’s purposes are for our
ultimate good. Romans 8:28 assures us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those
who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” God can use even the most difficult
situations to bring about good in our lives.

Ellen White reinforces this hope, stating, “The trials and difficulties that seem so bitter and hard to bear,
are for our discipline, so that through them we may learn to trust in God. He is always preparing us for
something better.” (Steps to Christ, p. 96). Even when life seems difficult, God’s plan is to strengthen our
faith and shape us for the future He has in store.

3. God's Plan is Bigger Than Our Circumstances: Often, we look at our current circumstances and feel like
God has forgotten us. But God’s plan goes beyond what we can see or understand. His ways are higher
than our ways (Isaiah 55:9). What may seem like a setback or failure to us might be part of a larger plan
that God is working out for our ultimate good.
Ellen White writes, “We are to believe that God knows just what is best and will give us that which will
be for our greatest good. Every trial is a part of the training for the future glory that He has in store for
us.” (The Ministry of Healing, p. 479). We must remember that God’s perspective is eternal, and His plan
takes into account not just the present but our entire future.

4. Trust in God’s Timing: Part of trusting in God’s plan is also trusting in His timing. Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells
us, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Sometimes, we
may grow impatient, wondering why certain things haven't happened yet or why we are going through
prolonged seasons of hardship. But God’s timing is perfect, and He knows when and how to bring His
plans to fulfillment.

Ellen White encourages us by saying, “In the fullness of time, God’s purposes will be revealed. Let us
trust Him to work out His will in His own time and in His own way.” (Steps to Christ, p. 98). Waiting on
God’s timing is a test of faith, but it ultimately brings about the fulfillment of His perfect plan.

5. God’s Plan is Full of Hope and Future: God’s plan for our lives is one of hope, no matter our present
struggles. Jeremiah 29:11 is a reminder that God’s thoughts toward us are filled with hope, and He
desires a good future for us. Whether you are facing incarceration, challenges in your personal life, or
past mistakes, God’s plan includes a future of restoration and purpose.

Ellen White emphasizes that we have a bright future in God’s hands, saying, “When we place our lives in
God’s hands, He will use us for His glory. There is no limit to what God can do with a life that is fully
surrendered to His plan.” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 333). Our hope is in the fact that God’s plan for our
lives is greater than anything we could imagine, and it leads us toward eternal life with Him.

Conclusion:
God’s plan for our lives is one of hope, purpose, and a future filled with good. Even when we can’t see
how things will work out, we can trust that God’s hand is guiding us. His plans are far greater than
anything we can imagine, and His timing is perfect. As we surrender to Him, we can rest in the assurance
that our lives are part of His greater story—one that leads to hope and a future full of peace.

Prayer:

"Dear Lord, thank You for the hope that comes from trusting in Your plan. Help us to surrender our lives
to You, knowing that Your plans are always for our good. Even in difficult times, remind us that You are
working out Your purpose in our lives. Give us patience to wait on Your timing and faith to trust in Your
promises. Thank You for the hope and future You have in store for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Session 6: Hope in God's Presence

Theme: Comfort in Knowing God is Always With Us

Key Verse: Psalm 46:1 - “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

Message Overview:

There is deep hope in knowing that God is always with us, no matter where we are or what we are going
through. His presence gives us strength, comfort, and peace. In moments of loneliness, fear, or despair,
the assurance that God is near brings hope to our hearts. Whether we are in the darkest valley or facing
overwhelming challenges, we are never alone because God has promised to be with us every step of the
way.

Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White reassures us about God’s constant presence, writing, “The Father’s
presence encircled Christ, and nothing befell Him but that which infinite love permitted for the blessing
of the world. Here was His source of comfort, and it is for us.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 224). This means
that just as Christ relied on God’s presence, we too can find comfort and strength in knowing God is
always near.
Points to Share:

1. God is Always With Us, Even in Our Darkest Moments: No matter how dark our circumstances may
feel, God is with us. Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” God’s presence brings comfort in times
of fear and uncertainty. We may feel alone, but God has promised never to leave us.

Ellen White echoes this comfort, saying, “We have a Companion by our side, the mighty Helper, who is
with us at every step to lead us into all truth.” (Steps to Christ, p. 68). God’s presence is a constant
source of guidance, even when we cannot see a way out of our situation.

2. God’s Presence Brings Peace: In the midst of chaos or difficulty, God's presence brings peace that
surpasses understanding. Philippians 4:7 tells us that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds
in Christ Jesus. This peace comes from knowing that God is with us, guiding us, and protecting us, no
matter the circumstances.

Ellen White writes, “In every difficulty, we may see the hand of God. In every trial, He is working for our
good.” (Steps to Christ, p. 97). When we understand that God is present even in our trials, we
experience peace knowing that He is in control and working all things for our good.

3. God’s Presence Provides Strength and Encouragement: Life’s challenges can often leave us feeling
weak and weary, but God’s presence strengthens us. Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with
you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with
my righteous right hand.” God gives us strength to face every trial because He is by our side.

Ellen White reminds us that “the angels of God...are sent to minister to those who shall be heirs of
salvation. We are to realize the presence of these heavenly beings.” (Steps to Christ, p. 126). God’s
presence is not only spiritual but also includes the ministry of angels sent to strengthen and encourage
us in our struggles.
4. We Are Never Alone: One of the greatest sources of hope is knowing that we are never truly alone.
Even when we feel isolated or abandoned, God is present with us. Hebrews 13:5 reassures us with God’s
promise, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” This truth can bring comfort in the loneliest
moments of life.

Ellen White reflects on this promise, saying, “The Savior is by our side. He is near us, acquainted with all
our sorrows and sufferings.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 483). Jesus Himself experienced loneliness and
suffering, and He walks with us through our trials, never leaving us alone.

5. God’s Presence is a Source of Hope for the Future: God’s presence is not just for the present moment,
but it is a source of hope for the future. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus promises, “And surely I am with you
always, to the very end of the age.” This promise reminds us that God's presence is eternal, giving us
hope not only for today but also for tomorrow and beyond.

Ellen White encourages us to hold onto this hope, saying, “In the future life, the mysteries that here
have annoyed and disappointed us will be made plain. We shall see that our seemingly unanswered
prayers and disappointed hopes have been among our greatest blessings.” (The Ministry of Healing, p.
474). God’s presence ensures that, no matter what we face now, we can trust Him with our future.

Conclusion:

The hope of God's presence is a powerful source of comfort and strength. No matter where we are or
what we are facing, God is with us. His presence brings peace, encouragement, and the assurance that
we are never alone. As we walk through life's valleys, we can hold onto the promise that God will never
leave us or forsake us. This hope in His presence carries us through the most difficult moments and gives
us confidence for the future.
Prayer:

"Dear Lord, thank You for Your constant presence in our lives. In moments of fear, loneliness, or
uncertainty, help us to remember that You are always with us. Strengthen us with Your presence and fill
us with Your peace. May we find hope in knowing that You will never leave us and that Your presence
will guide us through every trial. Thank You for the comfort and assurance You provide. In Jesus’ name,
Amen."

Session 7: Hope in Eternal Life

Theme: The Promise of Eternal Life Through Christ

Key Verse: John 14:2-3 - “In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive
you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Message Overview:

Eternal life is the greatest hope of the Christian faith. This hope is not based on what we see in this life
but on the promise that, through Jesus Christ, we have a future with God beyond this world. No matter
what we face in this life—pain, suffering, or even death—we can live with the confidence that eternal
life with God awaits us. This hope transforms how we endure trials and gives us a future to look forward
to, free from sorrow and full of joy.

Ellen G. White’s Insight: Ellen White speaks of eternal life as the crowning hope of the Christian’s
experience. She writes, “To those who receive Him, Jesus gives power to become the sons of God, that
at last God may receive them as His children, to dwell with Him throughout eternity.” (Steps to Christ, p.
60). This eternal inheritance gives hope that one day, all suffering will end, and we will live forever in
God’s presence.

Points to Share:
1. Eternal Life is God's Gift Through Jesus: Eternal life is not something we earn; it is a gift from God
through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We have hope in eternal life because Jesus died and rose again,
conquering sin and death on our behalf. His sacrifice secured our place in eternity with God.

Ellen White emphasizes the gift of eternal life, writing, “Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might
be treated as He deserves. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which
was His.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 25). Eternal life is made possible only through Jesus’ sacrifice, and this
gives us a sure hope in our future with God.

2. Eternal Life is a Life of Perfect Joy and Peace: The Bible paints a beautiful picture of what eternal life
will be like. Revelation 21:4 promises, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more
death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” In eternal life, there
will be no more suffering, only perfect joy and peace in God’s presence.

Ellen White describes this eternal joy, saying, “Heaven is a school; its field of study, the universe; its
teacher, the Infinite One. A life of eternal happiness is before those who are saved by Christ’s sacrifice.”
(Education, p. 301). This hope of living forever in perfect peace and joy with God is a powerful source of
comfort and encouragement, especially in times of hardship.

3. Eternal Life Motivates Us to Live Faithfully Today: Knowing that eternal life awaits us changes how we
live today. It encourages us to remain faithful in our walk with God, even through trials. In 1 Corinthians
2:9, we are reminded, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no human mind has conceived the things
God has prepared for those who love Him.” The promise of eternal life motivates us to live with
purpose, knowing that what we do now has eternal significance.

Ellen White highlights the importance of living in light of eternity: “In this life we are preparing for the
life to come. The character we develop now will determine our destiny for eternity.” (Christ’s Object
Lessons, p. 332). The hope of eternal life inspires us to live faithfully, trusting in God’s promise and
looking forward to the reward He has prepared for us.
4. Eternal Life is Our Victory Over Death: The hope of eternal life assures us that death is not the end.
Through Jesus’ resurrection, we have victory over death. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 proclaims, “Death has
been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” For those
who trust in Christ, death is merely a passage into eternal life.

Ellen White affirms this victory: “Christ has conquered death and opened the gates of eternal life to all
who believe. Through faith in Him, we share in His triumph over the grave.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 785).
Death loses its power over us because of the hope we have in the resurrection and the promise of
eternal life.

5. Eternal Life is the Fulfillment of God’s Promises: Throughout Scripture, God has promised eternal life
to those who trust in Him. John 3:16 tells us that “whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have
eternal life.” This promise is sure and steadfast. God is faithful to fulfill His word, and eternal life is the
ultimate fulfillment of His promises to His people.

Ellen White writes, “When Christ shall come, we shall be fully restored, receiving the crown of life and
entering into the joy of our Lord. The promise is sure, and it will be fully realized.” (Steps to Christ, p.
88). Our hope in eternal life is grounded in God’s faithfulness, and we can be certain that He will fulfill
every promise He has made.

Conclusion:

The hope of eternal life is the anchor for our souls. It reminds us that this life is not the end and that
there is a future awaiting us in the presence of God. Through Jesus, we have the promise of eternal joy,
peace, and victory over death. This hope gives us strength to endure trials and motivates us to live
faithfully, knowing that our future is secure in Christ. As we hold on to the hope of eternal life, we look
forward to the day when we will dwell forever with God, free from all sorrow and pain.
Prayer:

"Dear Lord, thank You for the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Help us to live with the hope
that, no matter what we face in this life, we have a future with You. Strengthen our faith and help us to
remain faithful, trusting in Your promises. We look forward to the day when we will be with You forever,
free from pain and sorrow. Thank You for the hope and joy that eternal life brings. In Jesus' name,
Amen."

Mark Finley's "Hope Beyond Tomorrow" explores themes of end-time prophecy, the Second Coming of
Christ, and the assurance of eternal life. Here are some additions from the book's key themes that could
enrich each session:

Session 1: Hope in God's Love

Addition: Finley emphasizes that God’s love is unchanging, even in the face of an uncertain future. He
writes about God's deep love for humanity that is displayed in His desire to save us. Incorporate this
thought by reminding participants that the same God who loves us deeply will walk with us through
every challenge, guiding us toward a brighter tomorrow.

Session 2: Hope in New Beginnings

Addition: Mark Finley discusses how God offers a fresh start to all who trust in Him. The promise of a
new heaven and a new earth is a future reality, but it begins now with spiritual renewal. We can find
hope in the new beginnings offered through Christ’s grace and the transforming power of the Holy
Spirit.

Session 3: Hope in God's Strength

Addition: Finley stresses that in the last days, God’s people will face trials, but they will be sustained by
His strength. Just as God has delivered His people in the past, He will give strength and courage to those
who trust in Him today. Incorporating this perspective can provide hope to inmates that God's strength
is enough to carry them through any struggle, no matter how tough.

Session 4: Hope in God's Forgiveness

Addition: Finley highlights the immense power of God's forgiveness, available to everyone, no matter
their past. In "Hope Beyond Tomorrow", Finley emphasizes that Jesus is our advocate and that His grace
is sufficient. Bring out the message that forgiveness is not just a one-time event but an ongoing
invitation from God, leading to ultimate restoration.

Session 5: Hope in God's Plan

Addition: Finley underscores that God’s plan for humanity includes not only redemption but also eternal
life. His plan culminates in Christ's return, when all pain and suffering will end. You can include the
thought that while our current lives may seem broken, God’s ultimate plan is to restore everything,
giving us hope not only for the present but also for the future Kingdom.

Session 6: Hope in God's Presence

Addition: "Hope Beyond Tomorrow" offers reassurance that God will never abandon His people,
especially as we face the challenges of the end times. Finley writes that God's presence is constant and
that we can have confidence knowing that He is with us every step of the way, even in prison. Share the
assurance that nothing can separate us from God's presence, and that He is our shelter through life’s
storms.

Session 7: Hope in Eternal Life

Addition: Finley's book focuses heavily on the promise of eternal life as the ultimate hope beyond
tomorrow. He emphasizes the certainty of Jesus’ return and the joy of living in a world free from sin and
death. Reinforce the idea that the trials we face now are temporary, and they pale in comparison to the
glory of eternal life with God. Share the hope that we are part of God's grand plan to be with Him
forever in a place where suffering will be no more.

By weaving in these themes from "Hope Beyond Tomorrow", you can deepen the focus on prophetic
hope and the end-time promises, reinforcing that God’s love, forgiveness, and strength are part of a
bigger picture of eternal salvation.
