System Analysis and Design, Course outline (OBE based Curriculum)

Part A
1. Course Code : CSE 3109
2. Course Title : System Analysis and Design
3. Course Type : Core Course
4. Level : 3.1
5. Academic Session : Spring 2025
6. Course Instructor : Md. Hasibur Rahman
7. Pre-requisite : N/A
8. Credit Value : 3.00
9. Contact Hours : 42
10. Total Marks : 100

11. Rationale of the course:

The primary objective of this course is to give students a strong foundation in information systems analysis and
design methodologies by combining theory and practice. It presents the essential design and logical factors that
are taken into account while developing system and application software.

12. Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
 Describe the terms and concepts used in system analysis and design, as well as the various phases of the
system development life cycle model.
 Evaluate, apply, and combine various conceptual modeling methods (such as UML, DFDs, and EROs) for
systems analysis.
 Use structured English and decision trees/tables as logic modeling approaches.
 Talk about the managerial challenges that come with system analysis and design, and provide an example
of how crucial cooperation and communication are to the creation and upkeep of systems.
 Explain and put into practice several design- and analysis-based techniques for developing cutting-edge
systems in the actual world.
