Installing driver
Software will notice user to install USB driver in first time user connect to the instrument.
After driver was installed, connect PC to the instrument with USB cable, the instrument
will automatically link to PC.

3 Main function
Cable & Antenna Analyzer workbench can perform following files interact with the instrument:
Data files, signal standard list, cable standard list. In order to implement function above.
Connect the instrument and PC with USB cable, open Cable & Antenna Analyzer workbench,
software will automatically link to the instrument. After linked, status bar will display
information of the instrument such as SN, software version and hardware version, and connect
status will change to “online”

Cable & Antenna Analyzer workbench supports file interacting between the instrument and PC.
After file opened, File list will automatically add referring file information.
After user choose File-→upload to PC, software will automatically download all files in the
instrument, user can choose file they needed and upload to PC for further analyzing.
After opened file from the instrument or PC, workbench supports print preview and print
function.

Cable & Antenna Analyzer workbench support add marker or limit, scale the curve, switch
between VSWR and return loss. These functions are similar to the instrument.
3.3.1 Marker
After opened file, user can choose marker function. Marker menu locates on the right side of
interface.

As for M2-M5,software also support calculating difference to M1.In marker menu, click
M2-M5,then click “MX-M1” user can enter difference interface. Workbench will display
difference in status bar(MX2~5-MX1;MY2~5-MY1).

3.3.2 Limit
User can choose limit function in main interface. Click “Limit” button, limit menu will
appear on right side of interface. User can open/close limit. After opened, limit status will
display on top of interface.

Limit setting interface(Alarm on, single limit, curve doesn’t exceeded limit)

Software supports single limit and multi limit. In single limit mode only first segment can be
edited, limit is a straight line. In multi limit mode user can edit all 5 segments, limit line is a
polyline.
User click edit block(X,Y),input window appears, user can locate limit’s position by following
methods

User can also open the alarm function. If test data exceeded limit, color of limit line will change
to red(default color is green).

3.3.3 Scale
Scale function is mainly used to adjust coordinate of Y axis, offers better experience to user.

Default Set coordinate to default value Return loss:0~60;VSWR:1~65;Cable loss:
0~30
Auto Automatic adjust screen to curve’s size
Manual After activated, user can change top and bottom to adjust coordinate of Y axis.
Input of top and bottom is only available after manual mode is activated.

If user has frequency VSWR or frequency return loss file, user can use this function to perform DTF
transform. Software will display parameter setting window, with proper set software will generate
new DTF file.

If user has frequency VSWR or frequency return loss file, user can use this function to transform it to
Smith Chart to observe parameters like impedance.
Choose frequency VSWR or frequency return loss file ,choose Smith Chart in Tools menu to perform
Smith Chart transforming, like follows:

3.6 Calculator
In order to offer better experience, workbench offers a calculator, to calculate return loss, VSWR,
reflect coefficient, impedance, transferring power, after user update one of parameters, click
“calculate”, other parameters will updated automatically.

User can open list from local PC or update list from the instrument to workbench. User can also
edit this list in workbench, or save it to PC then edit. After updated list file, user can save it to
local PC for backup or download it to the instrument.
