12. Pedestrian Management & Pedestrian/Cycle Connectivity - all proposed works within 400 meters of any rail

THIRD PARTY WORKS
It is the road-, asset-, utility owner’s sole responsibility for his utilities to carry out routine maintenance, renewal,
changes, adjustment, revitalization, replacement, repairs and emergency actions unless otherwise coordinated and
agreed with Qatar Rail.
INPSECTION & MAINTENACE WORKS
For the inspection and maintenance of utilities located within the Rail Protection Zone the Utility Owner shall submit an
Inspection and Testing Plan to Qatar Railways Company.
Every owner of a utility installed under a railway or within the RPZ shall at all times maintain their assets in
good working order and condition, so that:
• the safety of railway operations is not jeopardized, put at risk, interrupted or threatened in any manner;
• the safety of the public, including the lives, well-being and health of people is safeguarded; and

Compaction & Vibration NOTES:


1. Duty of Care
The applicant is fully responsibility (duty of care) during backfilling over Qatar Rail structures, but also for
demolition activities to provide fulltime supervision during the entire backfilling operation. The contractors
supervisor shall at all times be in contact with the relevant Metro/LRT Operator in order to notify each other in
case of irregular occurrences related to either structural behavior, vibrations, noise or any other adverse situation
arising from the 3rd party work and affecting the metro/LRT.
2. Impact assessment (vibration, etc.)
The applicant shall conduct an impact and risk assessment based on the method of construction and the
interfacing Qatar Rail asset. Adjustments to methods and/or monitoring systems must be installed based on
the risk assessment and Qatar Rail’s review, regulations and risk categorization.
3. Installation
The full responsibility to comply with accordance with state-, authorities’ requirements and Qatar Rails conditions
is with the applicant This includes all approvals, permits.
