USB CAN Interface Basics
The power to the USB-CAN Interface is supplied from host-PC via USB cable. When the unit
is connected, the green light is on.
Supported operating systems are 2000 and XP. The product works also under Windows 98
and Me but these are not fully tested.
USB-CAN Interface meets the CiA DS 102 standards and conforms to CE standard.
Installing the driver before connecting the USB-CAN Interface into host-PC is
advised.
1. Insert the CDROM in your drive and select setup.exe
2. Follow then the steps of installation process.
3. Finally, you need to restart your PC after installation is completed.
After restarting you may connect the USB-CAN Interface into host-PC with USB
cable. Windows detects the new devices and detects automatically appropriate
drivers. The red light on the unit blinks first and later stays on during the
installation.
Connections
USB-CAN Interface has two external connectors; USB to get connected with
the host-PC and Dsub9 to get connected with the CAN. Any standard USB
cable can be used to replace the original one if required.
In minimum pins 2, 3 and 7 are connected. You may use e.g. Epec USB-CAN
Cable, order code E30901290.
