Group Assignment
General direction
 The general format of the assignment should have Cover page (College name, department, course
name, target program, list of students and date of submission), introduction, discussion, summary
and references.
 MARGINS of 3.0 cm (1.2 inches) on the left and 2.5 cm (1.0 inch).each on the right, top and bottom
of the page are required.
 A FONT of 14 points (Time New Roman) is recommended for the first order (major titles); all the
remaining parts written in 12 points of “Times New Roman” font.
 Spacing and Indentation: The spacing between the lines in the text is 1.5 and between two
paragraphs is always a two-line space, which is one more free line of 1.5 spacing in addition to the
automatically applied 1.5 line spacing.
 Should be not more than three pages and send it in softcopy and be ready for presentation in class.

What is the importance of farming system approach for improving farmers’ production? Explain
with the example in Ethiopia/local context.

Explain the major determinants of farming system in different ways?

What are the unique characteristics of agriculture in developing countries? Describe with the
example in Ethiopian context.

What is the importance of agriculture in economic growth of Developing Countries? Explain
with the example in Ethiopian context.

Group 5
Researchers from many different disciplinary backgrounds contribute to the development of
farming systems research, focusing on specific aspects and customizing it to different contexts.
As a result, a diversity of approaches and applications has been developed, a richness that
comes at the cost of a simple, all‐encompassing definition. Discuss the above idea in four
paragraphs.

Discuss the components of farming systems and their interaction for livelihood means and
environmental protection in Ethiopia.
