Q1 Answer the followings

1. In D PQR, PM = 15, PQ = 25
PR = 20, NR = 8. State whether line
NM is parallel to side RQ. Give reason.

2. Do sides 7 cm, 24 cm, 25 cm form a right angled triangle? Give reason. 2

3. Seg PM is a median of D PQR. If PQ = 40, PR = 42 and PM = 29, find QR. 3

4. A line perpendicular to a radius at its point on the circle is a tangent to the


circle. Prove it. 3

(i) m(arc CE) = 54°,
m(arc BD) = 23°, find measure of ÐCAE.
(ii) If AB = 4.2, BC = 5.4,

6. Construct D PYQ such that, PY = 6.3 cm, YQ = 7.2 cm 3

7. A ladder on the platform of a fire brigade van can be elevated at an angle of


70° to the maximum. The length of the ladder can be extended upto 20m. If the
platform is 2m above the ground, find the maximum height from the ground upto
which the ladder can reach. (sin 70° = 0.94) 4
