PART A (5* 3=15 Marks)


1. The essential component of a toaster is an electrical element (a resistor) that converts electrical
energy to heat energy. How much current is drawn by a toaster with resistance 12 at 110V?

2. A series-connected circuit has R = 4 Ω and L = 50mH. Calculate the value of C that will
produce a quality factor of 100. Assume Vm= 200V. [CO02][BTL 2]
3. Determine the current flowing through an element if the charge flow is given by
q (t) = ( 8t2 + 4t-2) C, Assume t= 0.2seconds. [CO02][BTL 3]
4. Calculate V1 and V2 in the circuit shown in Fig.1. [CO02][BTL 3]
