SELF- TEST (INTEGRATING ACTIVITY)

Questions:

1. What is the main objective of the topic: Social Resources Mobilization?

The main objective of Social Resources Mobilization is to bring together and use the resources within a community to
address specific needs or goals. It involves building partnerships, encouraging collaboration among individuals and groups, and
making sure resources are used effectively. The goal is to help communities strengthen their ability to solve problems, create lasting
positive impacts, and raise awareness about the importance of working together. By mobilizing resources, people can achieve
sustainable development and empower their communities.

2. Define social mobilization.

Social mobilization is the process of bringing together individuals, groups, and organizations in a community to take
collective action toward a common goal. It involves raising awareness, building partnerships, and encouraging active participation to
address social issues or implement programs effectively. This approach emphasizes community engagement and collaboration to
create sustainable change.

3. What are the key elements of social mobilization?

The key elements of social mobilization include organizational development, which focuses on helping community
members, particularly the poor, form groups based on shared development interests and needs. Another element is capital
formation through community savings, where savings generated by members become assets for the community, supporting self-
reliance and enabling income-generating activities. Training for human resource development is also essential, as it helps
community members enhance their skills to manage initiatives and build connections with local governments and other sectors.
Lastly, socio-economic development is a key element, where initiatives support communities with grants, credit, and services to
improve social and economic conditions, thereby motivating people to stay organized and benefit from collective action.

4. Give the benefits of the social mobilization.

The benefits of social mobilization include its role in poverty alleviation, as it empowers communities, particularly the poor,
to actively engage in solving their own problems and addressing poverty in various forms. It also promotes democratic governance
by encouraging participation in decision-making, building capacity for participatory planning, and ensuring transparency. Social
mobilization benefits the environment by organizing people to manage natural resources responsibly and combat illegal practices
that harm the environment. Finally, it contributes to conflict prevention by fostering collaboration and addressing common issues in
an equitable, democratic, and transparent way, which can reduce the likelihood of conflicts.

5. As a NSTP-CWTS student, what role would you like to perform in social mobilization so that you can be of help in the
development of a community?
As an NSTP-CWTS student, I would like to take on the role of an advocate in social mobilization to contribute to community
development. I can help by raising awareness about important issues, educating people on the value of their involvement, and
inspiring them to take action. By communicating the goals of social mobilization effectively, I can encourage individuals and groups
to work together toward solutions. I would also support the mobilization of resources and partnerships to ensure that projects are
implemented successfully. Through this role, I can help amplify the voices of the community and contribute to positive, lasting
change.
