It is advisable to open the bypass valve while starting. It is easy for priming water since

valve once the pump is in stable operation. You’d better open the bypass valve when
there are bubbles in the transferred liquid and the operating pressure is below 6 bar,
otherwise high flow speed of the transferred liquid will damage the outlet.
