About the Webinar: As per the annual report of Central Pollution Control Board (2016-17), there are 2120 active
dumpsites in India. It is estimated that around 25,000 acres of urban land is occupied by these dumpsites. To reduce the
quantity of accumulated legacy waste at dumps and reclaim the sites for other purposes, landfill mining is being considered
to be a viable option. This webinar is intended to disseminate essential knowledge on theoretical and practical aspects as
well as recent advancements in landfill mining. The expertise of various invited speakers in different domains is expected
to synergize the overall enhancement in the current practice of landfill mining in India.
