Introduction to Course :‑
1. Tools 6. Emotions in Organs
2. Relaxation 7. Emotions from memories
3. Awareness 8. Impulse
4. Memory Work 9. React
5. Imagination 10. Actions

Tools
An actors body is his tool. It has voice , breath , emotions, physicality, resonators. We will start
the class by working on 5 resonators in the body used to create different voices.
Then we will show how to warm up body, face and to come in a receptive state.

Relaxation:‑
It has 2 techniques :‐
One is based on Stanslavaski System (this is to go in an extremely relaxed state) The 2nd one is
based on the Cathy Hass System (this is different as in the beginning it makes you completely
unrelaxed, your breath breaks with this method but it is more useful practically working with
the text as it makes your approach more organic with text) (keeps the breath in the chest)
Both relaxations are different for different texts which i will explain in class. What to use where

Awareness
It is based on the Meisner Technique. It is the irst step for making your body reactive. We will
do this. Exercise :‑
With wall, With partner, knock on the door exercise (motivation), Situation, using Meisner on
road while walking , sitting and other ways of life to feel what you are feeling at that time . Self
exploration and understanding. And saying those lines at that time.
whatever motivation you have use it, Using surroundings, your partner (react to them)

Memory Work
First step in affective memory based on your experience, how to access memories and then
use it

Imagination
Create a coffee cup, Create a place, Create a partner with your imagination

Emotion in Organs
Negative and positive emotions in various organs of the body. I will help students access the
emotions of organs using Meisner wall exercise and partner exercise

Emotion from memories

In this we will delve deeply into emotion memories and will ride on these memories to use
them as a subtext of a very simple script such as “ My name is Tom” to help people
understand how you ride some part of your texts onto memories.
Acting is Reacting
“Remember never act always react for a real performance “

Impulse
In this we will work on how impulses are passed, how impulses work in body. How to hold
an impulse , how to let it go. How to start reacting to external stimulus.

React
Then we will use the above methods and incorporate them into reaction, also how we can use
and create reactions to make acting organic, teaching them how reactive acting works.

Actions
How actions are stronger than emotions and will always work even when emotions don’t
work. It will serve as a bridge to create consistent performances.

Improvise
How improvisation is one of the most powerful tools to keep your performance always fresh
and organic. Also exploring and inding new things with text. This way you will never be dead
in performances.

Concentration
Where to give concentration and where not to give concentration. Also how to work and
improve concentration. Exercises for it. Relaxation and concentration.

Working with the text

a) Cold read, b) React to it (if it lets you react), c) make mental subtext, connect the lines , what
came before? To kickstart the scene, where? Why ? When? What ? Who? (Character), how?
d) Say the lines as if talking to someone while sitting, doing some work, in the open, improvise
with places, e) understand and react to partner, f) react to place, g) react to memories,
h) create reactions on set to blockings, change in direction, places, lines, Incorporating all the
tools above to create a performance
