5) It is important that this Service Manual be kept at hand, studied carefully and reviewed periodically by
the authorized operators.
6) The owner should ensure continuous power supply to the system, with voltage and current according
to the product specifications. If power failures are not infrequent, a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply)
should be installed to avoid loss of data.
7) If the product does not operate properly or if it fails to respond to the controls described in this manual,
the operator should immediately contact VIEWORKS field service representative, report the incident and
await further instructions.
8) The images and calculations provided by this system are intended to be used as tools for the competent

1.5 Calibration
Caution
The owner is responsible for ensuring that the system calibration is performed at
installation time or if the system is repaired. Do not try to use the system if
system calibration is not performed.
To ensure the optimal performances of the system it is important to verify that system is calibrated.
Caution
The operator is responsible for performing distance calibration with a reference
object and verifying the results of the distance calibration before taking any
distance measurements on an image.
Distances measurements in millimeters are possible only after distance calibration has been performed
using a reference object.
Caution
The operator is responsible for backing-up images of each patient. Do not
accumulate images in the system without having a back-up.
To avoid the possibility old loosing images, which might result in patient being exposed to additional
doses of radiation, it is important to back-up the images by filming or by using the CD or DVD option.
This should be done as a routine operation for every patient. And if the hard disk of workstation is about
to full the operator should back-up images and delete the images to make room on hard disk for new
patient.

10 Hardware Installation
This equipment consists of the precise electronic components. It is not operated well due to
the damage of electronic components arising from influence of the magnetic and electricity
static. Remove all from influence of the magnetic and electricity before working.
It is possible to injure when SCU is dismantled at his or her discretion because high voltage is
flowing in the SCU. Don’t dismantle it except for an engineer receiving specialty education.
Don’t attach and detach Camera Interface Cable, Generator Interface Cable, I.I Output
Connector Cable while power on. It might be a cause not to operate well. Attach and detach
all cables after power off.
2) Remove dust on the front lens in using air blower or specific cloth.

System Setup Tab consists of System Option, Display Adjustment, Parameter Management and System Information.
[System Option]
[Display Adjustment]
The standard chart below is used to adjust the brightness of monitor. With clicking the <Show SMPTE
Chart> button after selecting the relevant chart, the SMPTE Chart is displayed on each monitor. There
are 21 charts for selection. The direction key is used to move to the other charts and the display is closed
by clicking the left key of the mouse.
[Parameter Management]
It manages the parameter files which are necessary for the
operation of Workstation.
SCU parameter File, Multilanguage ini File can be imported and
exported.
[System Information]
It displays System information.
It shows not only the currently installed Software Version but also
the firmware version and FPGA of SCU and Camera connected
and even the serial numbers.
To write operation, correct password is needed.
Port setting is the menu to set the Active States of the Generator Interface Signals.
Port setting is for both the input signal from the Generator and the output signal to the Generator and it varies
depending on the input and output characteristics of the Generator. Referring to the Chapter 8 in this manual,
select High/Open or Low/Close according to the input and output characteristics of the Generator.
In case of selecting High/Open, the relevant input and output signals are used in active state in the condition of High
Level for the voltage type and in the condition of Open for the contact type.
In case of selecting Low/Close, on the contrary, the relevant input and output signals are used in active state in the
condition of Low Level for the voltage type and in the condition of Close for the contact type.
After finishing all setting, click the “SAVE” button located at the bottom part to store the settings.
The following are the procedures of the camera center adjustment and focus adjustment.
1) Make Mask off by clicking Mask Off button in order to adjust camera center and I.I center.
2) Adjust the amount of X-ray (KV and mAs) to make the monitor reach proper brightness.
3) Adjust the camera mount to get the circle position of I.I located in the center of the screen and fix the
mount.
4) Check if the horizontal/vertical Collimator is identical with the camera. If they are not identical, adjust
the position by rotating the camera after unfixing the screws for fixing the camera. The table shall be
check at an angle of 45°.
5) Attach the resolution chart and then detach the camera focus wheel cover.
6) Adjust the camera focus wheel to get the maximum resolution at and around the center.
7) After getting maximum resolution by adjustment, fix the focus wheel by using M3 Set Screw located at the
bottom of the cable connecting part, and assemble the focus wheel cover.
8) After clicking Mask On, remove unnecessary parts of the image by designating Mask size which
adjustment range is 450 to 500.
9) With completion of adjustment, click the SAVE & CONFIRM button to store the setting values.

2) B Timing : Time from EXP_ACK signal output to CAM_SYNC output. Timing is generally set as “0 ms”
but in case of the single phase Generator there might be considerable delay time from
EXP_ACK signal input. The delay is compensated with V timing. The reason why such
compensation is necessary is that the noise characteristics may be deteriorated due to the
excessively long C timing if the C timing is decided considering such delay.
To measure the delay time, the difference between Fluoroscopy KV and radiography KV shall
be big enough. (The delay amount is maximized due to the moving time of SLIDAC)
3) C Timing : Time to store the light signals generated by X-ray to the electronic signals.
This shall be set longer than the Radio Backup Timing of X-ray Generator not to lose the
amount of light in storing the signals. It is desirable to record the exact timing by measuring it
with oscilloscope after setting in 2000ms because X-ray may not be generated by the timing at
the initial setting stage in case of single phase Generator. But it is needed to set the C timing not
to exceed 1000ms if possible
It is the menu to set the parameter to maintain the intensity of radiation of camera properly.
