MAHARATNA PSUs
The CPSEs meeting the following eligibility criteria are considered for Maharatna status:
❑ Listed on Indian stock exchange with minimum prescribed public shareholding under
SEBI.
❑ An average annual turnover of more than Rs 25,000 crore during the last three years.
MAHARATNA PSUs
❑ An average annual net worth of more than Rs 15,000 crore during the last three
years.
❑ An average annual net profit after tax of more than Rs 5,000 crore during the last
three years.
❑ First of there needs to be a score of 60 out of 100 for the below parameters.
❑ Earnings per share.
❑ The ratio of net profit and net worth.
❑ Gross profit as a part of the turnover.
❑ Gross margin calculated as per capital employed.
❑ Cost of manpower to cost of services or production.
❑ There are 13 Navratna PSUs in India.
NAVRATNA PSUs
MINIRATNA PSUs
▪ Miniratnas, are in two categories, namely, Category- I and Category-II.
▪ Category-I CPSEs should have made profit in the last three years continuously, the pre-tax
profit should have been Rs 30 crore or more in at least one of the three years and should
have a positive net worth.
▪ Category-II CPSEs should have made profit for the last three years continuously and should
have a positive net worth.

GATE COUNSELLING
❑ The qualifying candidates have to apply to COAP for IIT M.Tech admission
and to CCMT for NIT, IIITs, GFTIs M.Tech admission. The Common Offer
Acceptance Portal (COAP) and Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/ M.Des
(CCMT) conduct the GATE counselling.
❑ Also, state and private universities conduct their own counselling based on
GATE scores.
❑ Although admissions are done on the basis of GATE scores , many institutes
also conduct a written test or interview for shortlisting candidates.
