10 cm Gravel & Sand. Plain concrete under foundation (10cm). Water Proofing works (5mm). Protection Concrete (8-10 cm). Foundation works (mat foundation, caps foundations, up stand beams) Columns & RC walls (rebar installation, formwork, concrete placement) 30 40 cm Backfilling at the top of foundations. Plain concrete at the top of backfilling. Slab& Beams(rebar installation, formwork, concrete placement) Water proofing works for Reinforcement Concrete Walls.
10 cm Gravel & Sand. Plain concrete under foundation (10cm). R.W foundation works. First stage of R.W. Second stage R.W. Third stage of R.W.
All existing rubbish material, debris, trees and asphalt paving to be remove from working site to designated location. Determine the site border. The setting out of external and eternal excavation limits will be done by referring to the drawings and layout plan. The excavation will be carried out using excavator and backhoe to reach up to correct and required level using total station and level instrument. The excavated material will be loaded into trucks by loader or backhoe and transferred to a designated dumping area. Lay 10cm sand and gravel. Watering, compaction and testing. Marking boundaries of the hospital.
Excavation levels and dimensions to be checked as per drawings Remove all the loose earth before start compacting. Do the shuttering of PPC Watering and compacting. Spread 0.1 mm polythene sheeting. Set the level of PCC before pouring concrete. Placing the 10 cm concrete B150. Finishing the concrete surface to be suitable to receive water proof membrane.
Ensure that the surfaces are clean and free from all traces of loose materials, oil, greases.. Use suitable cement mortar to fill any gap in concrete. For fully bonded applications (For Walls), apply a primer coat over the concrete substrate. Allow the primer to dry for at least 4-6 hours Place the waterproof membrane onto the primed concrete surface. Ensure that the torchable side of the membrane is facing down Torch the underside of the membrane until the plastic backing sheet has melted
Ensure that the flame heat is applied evenly and within the correct temperature range Then press firmly the membrane onto the substrate. The side and the end overlap should be 10cm. Take care to prevent damage to the existing layer due to over torching Protection concrete will be done to protect the water proof membrane.
This method statement to define the requirements for execution of reinforced concrete works.
2-Scope:
For reinforced concrete elements of the Hospital under the scope of the contract.
3 Procedure: 3.1 Submittals
The contractor should submit application for approval of concrete batch plant. The contractor should submit a concrete job mix design for approval The contractor should get approval for Reinforced steel bars before start of placing. The contractor should submit shop drawings for approval.
3.2 Preparations
6 cub samples for testing should be taken every 100 m3 concrete. 3 vibrators should be available at the site during placing concrete. Proper curing for all concrete elements.
The setting out for perimeter of mat foundation has to be carried out by surveyor using the total station. Formwork will be placed around the perimeter of the foundation by using plywood materials with proper supported. The setting out and formwork of perimeter foundation should be inspected by consultant. The surface of protection concrete should be cleaned before start of rebar installation.
Installation of bottom and top layer of steel reinforcement for mat foundation including the extra bars for walls and columns. The bottom and top layer of Reinforcement steel should be inspected by consultant before start of installing starter bars for RC walls and columns. Demarcation of lines for Columns, RC walls and shear walls as per the approved layout drawings. Installation of start bars walls and columns. Final inspection for mat foundation. The concrete will be placed to correct level by use of a concrete pump. The concrete will be vibrated, levelled, and finished properly
3.3.2 Reinforcement concrete walls: Demarcation of lines for Columns, RC walls and shear walls as per the approved layout drawings One side of the formwork will be assembled, fixed and supported by scaffoldings. Rebar installation for RC walls After rebar installation completed and inspect by consultant, the closing of second shutter will be started. The formwork will be propped and tied with through tie equipment Be certain that all wall ties are in place and secured The formwork will be aligned with suitable adjustable props The working and walkway platform systems must be fixed properly, as per specifications and all applicable safety regulations. Access to the working platform will be by ladder securely fixed to the platform. Wall alignment and plumb inspection should be done by consultant. The concrete will be placed to correct level by use of a concrete pump. The concrete will be vibrated and levelled properly.
3.3.3 Reinforced concrete slab and drop beams: The leveling of slab should be done by surveyor using level instrument. The Slab scaffolding system will be used under slab and beams The formworks of drop beams will be started first, then the formwork of slab. After completed the formwork for beams and slab, the leveling inspect should be done by consultant The rebar installation for drop beams should be done according to approved drawing.
The rebar installation for slab mesh should be done according to approved drawing. Shutters will be placed around the perimeter of the slab Steel reinforcement inspect should be done by consultant. The concrete will be placed to correct level by use of a concrete pump. The concrete will be vibrated, leveled and finished properly.
SAFETY MANAGEMENT IN CONSTRUCTION Good housekeeping should be maintained at all situations. Safety helmets, shoes, belts should be given to the workers to avoid the causes of injuries Do not interfere with firefighting equipment and electrical circuits Proper labor shed has to be provided to the labor Proper ventilation, lighting facilities, drinking water and sanitary facilities should be provided to the labor Ensures Implementation of law of the land with respect to safety and health. Create safety organization with Health and First aid facilities. Standard, quality & timely supply of personnel protective equipment. Safety promotional activities.. No child labor. Keep gas bottles in a proper location. The scaffolding will be erected by a competent scaffolder and checked prior to use or after it has been moved
QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES Evolve effective acceptance/rejection procedures for construction materials in coordination with the project purchase department Do proper sampling and testing of steel, cement, concrete, aggregates, water, etc., and verify test results in view of standards and work specifications prior to their use in construction Set procedures to control quality at the points of storage for raw materials, mixing and placing of concrete Evolve a system to check quality of workmanship in all construction activities. Practice sound housekeeping methods to achieve saving, safety and quality.
WORK PLAN
Excavation work: The excavation work will be implemented for all areas in two stages The first stage of excavation to the level of block K-J-H at -5.70 The second stage of excavation from -5.70 to the level of other block at 10.20 After completed each stage the excavation edges are required to be sloped or shored to prevent collapse.
Reinforced concrete work: The concrete works will be implemented in two phases: o First: Lower level area (-10.20) which have two basements o Second: Upper level area (-5.70) which have one basement. The plain concrete, waterproofing works, protection concrete will be started for all lower area. Block C-D-E has the highest priority because of high number of floors, so the foundation work will start on it, after that block A-B and F-G which they have same number of floor. All slabs for small blocks such as: D, A', G'-F', A' which existing between main blocks should be finished at the same time of main block slabs, to use as access for material and labor. The concrete works at upper area (K-J-H block) will start after the concrete work for 2nd basement, first basement, G.F and first floor of block B, G, E will be completed, because the upper area will be used for placing concrete and setting up the pump for these blocks at lower levels. After concrete work at block A will completed, the crews working there will be transferred to start working at block (k-J-H).
