Global Education
promotes the knowledge, attitudes, and skills relevant to living responsibly in a multicultural
and interdependent world. It develops values like respect diversity, a commitment to peace
and harmony, and empathy with people of the world thus, taking concrete steps locally and
globally to make a better world. With global education, teachers need to become global
educators as well.
Global Teacher
has the responsibility to carry out the lesson effective and effect learning. Also, he/she has
the ability to bring global touch in the classroom. It is not only teaching student how to
speak the English language correctly but to add global dimension to make sure that student
learn how to communicate in English in the variety of audiences.
Global Teacher is competent enough, armed with enough skill, appropriate attitude and universal
values to teach students as well as modern technologies in education in any place in the world. He
or she is someone who thinks and acts both locally and globally with worldwide perspectives, right
in the communities where she or he is situated.
Global Teacher should have the heart to love the unlovable, to endure the unbearable and must
Have the competence to make learning possible, by and large, a Global Teacher should always
put the welfare of the students above all things and serve as ambassador of goodwill to all people
across different cultures.
Glocal Education
This is about diversity, understanding the differences and teaching different cultural
groups in their own context to achieve the goals of global education.
Glocal Teacher
Someone who thinks and acts both locally and globally with worldwide perspective but is
teaching in the communities, localities, towns, provinces and regions where he/she is
situated.
Someone who is globally outlooked adapted to the local condition or a local outlook
adapted to the global condition.
A. Characteristics of a Glocal Teacher
1. Incorporates the global dimension into the school- based activities as an integral part of
teaching practices
2. Allow students
3. Believes and take action for education that will sustain the future
4. Facilitate digitally mediated learning
5. Posses’ good communication skills
6. Be creative and innovative
7. Knows that he/she can become an agent of change
8. Thinks globally but act locally or think local but act global
This concept means that a teacher has to be equipped with teaching strategies and
techniques that can be of same level with the global teaching arena.
He/she has to be open minded on world issues and events that will benefit to his/her locally.
The term “glocal” is a combination of global and local concepts.
Global Teacher has a knowledge of world cultures and issues and incorporates that
knowledge into their classroom teaching. They are equipped with the skills, attitude, and
values to teach learners anywhere in the world.
Globalization emphasizes a global perspective
Glocal teacher considers both global and local perspective, thinking globally but acting
locally, or vice versa. They teach in their local community, but with a worldwide perspective.
Glocal education is about understanding differences and teaching cultural groups in their
own context.
Glocalization is the adaption of global products and strategies the local cultures and
markets
