➢ Mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate right

➢ Clutch, first gear, balance (slight incline ∴ a little higher)
Outside inspection
➢ Full observation, handbrake down (keep foot close to brake)
➢ No obstruction and oil leaks under the car
➢ When line in front disappears, lockwheel right
➢ Side mirror is clean and not cracked
➢ Move forward slowly and straighten wheel (turn 2 times left)
➢ Tyres have enough pattern tread and the nuts are secured
➢ clutch and foot brake, handbrake up
➢ Wiper blade is in good working order and the rubber is not perished
➢ mirror , mirror, blindspot, indicate left
➢ Front lights and lenses are clean and not cracked
➢ Select reverse gear, balance, full observation, handbrake down
➢ Under the bonnet i check the water, oil, brake fluid and fan belt
➢ Lock left, reverse until side mirror is 10cm away from midline
➢ Left side of the the car is the same
➢ Clutch and foot brake, handbrake up
➢ Fuel cap is locked
➢ Mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate right
➢ Back lights and lenses are clean and non cracked
➢ Select first gear, balance, full observation, handbrake down
➢ In the boot i have a spare wheel, jack and spanner
➢ Move forward until body is in line with the midline
➢ Lock wheel right and move forward
Inside inspection
➢ Straighten wheel (turn 2 times left)
➢ The doors are closed and locked
➢ Foot brake, clutch, neutral
➢ The handbrake is up
➢ the gear is in neutral
Parallel parking to the left
➢ The mirrors and seat is adjusted
➢ Mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate left
➢ There is no obstructions by my feet or on the dashboard
➢ Clutch, select reverse, balance, full observation, handbrake down
➢ Reverse until the first pole is in the middle of the small left back window
Starting procedure
(check opposite blindspot) then lockwheel left
(turn car on *don’t start*)
➢ Look at right side mirror, reverse until three poles are aligned and there
➢ Warning lights and gauges are working
is space in the right side mirror then straighten (turn wheel 2 times right)
➢ Parking brake ratchet is working and the handbrake is up
➢ Reverse until first pole is at left side mirror and lock wheel right
➢ The gear is in neutral
➢ Reverse till you car is parallel to curb
➢ The car has an automatic choke
➢ I’m starting the car and there is no malfunction
Parallel parking to the right
➢ Mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate right
➢ Clutch, select reverse, balance, full observation, handbrake
down
➢ Reverse until the first pole is in line with the door lock the big
back window (check opposite blindspot) then lockwheel right
➢ Look in left side mirror, reverse until three poles are aligned
and there is space in the left side mirror then straighten (turn wheel 2
times left)
➢ Reverse until shoulder is 45° at first pole is at right side mirror and lock
wheel left
➢ Reverse till you car is parallel to curb
Alley docking to the right Hand signals
➢ mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate right Right: mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate right
➢ Clutch down, select reverse gear, balance, full observation, handbrake mirror , blindspot right, put hand out at 90 degree angle
down
➢ Reverse until the second pole is 10 cm from the centre post of the car in Left: mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate left
the front window then lock wheel right mirror , blindspot right, put hand out and turn it anticlockwise
➢ Look in left side mirror, reverse until all three poles are aligned with some
space in the right side mirror Stop: mirror, soft brake, clutch down
➢ Straighten wheel (turn wheel 2 times left) mirror , blindspot right, put hand out at 180 degree angle
➢ Reverse till second last pole is aligned with right shoulder
➢ Brake and clutch, handbrake up, clutch, neural Stopping
Mirror foot brake softly, clutchdown, handbrake up
Alley docking to the left
➢ mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate left Going
➢ Clutch down, select reverse gear, balance, full observation, handbrake Clutch down, select 1st gear, balance, full observation, handbrake down

➢ Reverse until the second pole disappears behind the centre post of the Indicating, turning and lane change
car then lock wheel left Mirror, mirror, blindspot, indicate, check blindspot once more before turning
➢ Look in right side mirror, reverse until all three poles are aligned with
some space in the right side mirror Getting out the car
➢ Straighten wheel (turn wheel 2 times right) Turn car off, unbuckle seatbelt, unlock car, check right blindspot then open
➢ Reverse till second last pole is aligned with right shoulder door
➢ Brake and clutch, handbrake up, clutch, neutral
Things to remember
Incline ➢ Side road: check mirror then side road
➢ Accelerate till stop sign
➢ Clutch then Brake ➢ When turning: slow down and switch to 2nd gear before hand
➢ Handbrake up (higher than usual)
➢ Clutch and select first gear ➢ If you stopped always switch back to first gear
➢ Feel first bite
➢ Anchor foot ➢ Gears:
➢ Full observation 0 = first gear
➢ Clutch up slowly till car shakes 0-20 = second gear
➢ Handbrake down 20-40 = third gear
➢ Keep foot by brake 40-60 = fourth gear
