Getting your driver’s licence

A guide for Pacific workers in Australia

You need to have a valid licence to drive in Australia. Driving without a valid licence is illegal.
How you get your driver’s licence in Australia depends on where you live - there are different steps to getting
a driver’s licence in each state. Find out where to apply for your driver’s license in the table below.
