SOP for the Invigilators
Date: September 27, 2024
1. Invigilators will report 30 minutes prior to the start of the examination. In case of
unavailability, the faculty will inform the control room one day prior to the proper engagement
of the duty.
2. The invigilator will count and collect the required copies and question papers from the control
room.
3. The invigilator will check the student ID card or admission slip (for first year, newly
admitted) at the entrance of the examination hall while admitting the In the event that the
student is not carrying an ID card or admission slip, they will be directed to get permission
from the examination superintendent.
4. The invigilator will not permit students with fees due or who are short of attendance to enter
the examination hall and will send the student to get permission from the respective program
dean. After seeking permission from competitive authorities, students may be allowed to give
exams.
5. Fees Due/Short Attendance student's enrollment number will be crossed on the seating
plan pasted on the door of the examination room.
6. The invigilator will not permit students whose TC or migration is not submitted to the
university.
7. The invigilator will ensure that students sit strictly according to the seating plan issued by the
exam control.
8. During the distribution of answer sheets, the invigilator will not keep answer sheets on the
vacant seats.
9. The invigilator will give instructions to the students that no student should carry any electronic
gadget in the examination hall, which includes a mobile phone, smart watch, wireless
neckband, and headphone. Calculators are allowed. Programmable calculators are not allowed.
10. The invigilator will instruct students to write their enrollment number on the question paper at
the specified place (Top right corner of the question paper). Students will not write, mark, or
tick anything else on the question paper.
11. No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the start of the exam.
12. The invigilator should remain attentive and will ensure that no cheating occurs in the
examination hall. In case any student does not listen to the instructions, bring the matter to the
attention of the exam superintendent. The invigilator will not indulge in any dispute with the
students.
13. If any student is found with any electronic gadget, written notes, or any item not permitted
during the examination, then the faculty will take the answer copy from the student and give a

second copy to the student for writing. The matter must be immediately reported to the control
room and will assist in forming UFM. Both copies will be submitted to the control room.
14. The invigilator is required to fill in the present or absent details on the register circulated by the
exam control.
15. The invigilator will check the entries made by the student on the answer sheet and sign after
verifying the details of the student. The invigilator will especially check that the student
completes all the entries mentioned on the front.
16. The invigilator must ensure that all the students register their attendance by filling out their
enrollment number, answering a copy, and signing the attendance sheet provided by control
room.
17. The student is allowed to take short leave only after 30 minutes from the start of the examination
and before 15 minutes of the ending of the exam.
18. Invigilators can permit students to permanently leave the examination hall only after one hour
from the start of the exam.
19. If a student leaves the hall after one hour but before the end of the examination, then the
invigilator will immediately collect the copy and keep it in custody. The copy must not be lying
on the student’s desk.
20. While distributing supplementary sheets, the invigilator will sign the sheet after checking the
student’s details on the supplementary sheet. The invigilator will ensure that students properly
attach the supplementary sheet to the main answer sheet using thread or stepler.
21. Before 15 minutes of the end of the examination, a final call for a supplementary sheet will be
made. Afterwards, no supplementary sheet will be issued to the students.
22. The invigilator will instruct 5 minutes prior to the end of the examination that students are
required to be seated until instructed to leave.
23. The invigilator will collect the answer copies at the end of the examination and tally the count of
answer sheets with the number of students present, then only allow the students to leave.
24. All the used answer copies, unused answer copies, permission slips and other stationary items
must be submitted back in the control room.
25. Siren timings:
No Students will be allowed to enter the exam hall after the third siren.
26. There are 13 boxes present for enrollment numbers on the front-page test answer book. If the
enrollment number of a student is 12 characters, then the student is required to be instructed by
the invigilator to strike off the first box.
