The story is about how things can be within us , we look around all over the World trying to look

for as
Universe has its own deep meanings in the journey we set on to of looking for, the lessons we learn onto
the path when we are on like Santiago does. Everything in life is quite visible to those who tries to
understand the language of the Universe and get severely tested while on their way of listening to their
inner calling, in the process if a person who is trying to achieve something and things which are meant
for him is deserving enough or not. The things which we desire for, originates in the mind of an
individual if it’s already present in the future, that’s why sometimes we are eager for getting some things
because we have already gotten those things ahead. Everybody who is put onto this planet has their
purpose what they are made for, what their contribution is to the society and to the bigger energy from
which he is made, in which ways he will return on to his debts he has carried from the past life and from
this life. There’s a connection between everything which happens in our life as the mysterious reason
behind it was leading us onto our personal legend and our intuition becomes stronger while progressing
through this.

The shepherd who was wandering like what he does, found a place to spend his night on which is an
abandoned church got a dream of a child leading him to the ancient pyramids where he was speaking
something about treasure. Santiago didn’t care much about thinking of it as a weird dream out of the
blue, but when he was on his way to the village for rearing his sheep for selling the wool of the sheep to
the merchant, he was ahead, he thought of a woman who was known for interpreting dreams and then
got a urge to pay a visit over there just for entertainment purpose and out curiosity what will happen in
the future. The lady tried to give the same message as the one he got in his dreams, but she was not
completely able to see his dreams as it spoke in the language of soul which can be deciphered by the
individual himself. Although getting the rough idea of where the cosmos is trying to lead him, Santiago
still does not believe it to be completely true because he has not heard of the ancient pyramids in the
Egypt even once in his whole life which he got the dream about. Afterwards, on his way to the Andalusia
with the intent of meeting merchant’s daughter, he met an old man in front of the bar who tried to
strike a conversation with him, at which the Santiago is hesitant at first but got immersed in later on after
knowing that he has some immense powers causing the old man to tell everything about him, and where
the creation is directing him if he does not recognize the omens around him or the calling like he get
twice. The old man who was King of Salem told him that he knows where the hidden treasure is and
asked for the one tenth of his flock in exchange for the revelation, and then everything started to make
sense to him; the lady, recurrent dreams like if they were real. Following this, he was not all prepared to
leave everything at once , the things he was accustomed to in the search of something he don’t know
much about, causing him to be in state of dilemma whether he should continue whatever he is doing or
move on to the bigger things he was subconsciously yearning for. Ultimately, the intuition won and the
boy decided to get in the direction where destiny is leading him to, and when he met the old man in the
noon for giving him one tenth portion of the flock to him, he asked about the treasure for which he got
respond to just follow the path God has created for him to be on along with the two stones he got from
him indicating yes and no at the times of difficulty or problem.

After commencing his journey in search of the treasure, he got led by his intuition several times when he
was just in the phase of dropping his personal legend and return on to the normal things he used to do
earlier, like when he got robbed wholly by a young man he met in the bar, and then while working at the
crystal merchant shop, he got to know several things he would need to have for getting to the pyramids
in the Egypt which kind of demotivated him from his determination to look for the treasure hidden over
there, causing him to gather enough money for going back to his homeland and buy a flock of sheep.
When he came to the point at which he has enough to go back to what he was thinking about for a while
got again struck by his inner voice if what he has dreamt of can be true, and the person is always nearby
when he wants to realize his personal legend, something which he truly wants to accomplish and get a
sense of contentment. Realizing this, he went on to in the deserts with the caravan who has their own
personal legend of understanding the desert’s language, which the boy also tried to do so and got
succeeded later as every journey has something to give away to a person for learning if the person is
willing to do so. On his way, he met along with an Englishmen, who was looking for an alchemist who
turns metal into gold and has tremendous powers because they know beyond the world and trying to
learn how he himself can gain those skills of turning metal into gold. Subsequently, crossing all the odds,
the group reached the oasis where the boy and the Englishmen have heard of the alchemist residing
over there. The alchemist does not give the Englishmen the key for turning metal into gold but instead
asked him to carry on whatever he is doing. The alchemist taught the boy several things which makes
sense for him via several teachings on their way to the pyramids from the oasis for which Santiago must
drop his love which he had found in the oasis learning that true love does not necessarily always require
possession but letting go and desire for the accomplishment of the personal legends of their partners.
Eventually, when the alchemist left Santiago to go on his own way by listening to his heart and the desert
which now became his friend reached pyramids over where he dug the land in search of the treasure for
a while unable to find anything, was then got interrupted by the refugees of the tribal wars who found
gold in the Santiago’s bag led him to dug the ground again if that’s where he got the gold from. But
when the sun rose, he could not find anything till then and was being beaten by them badly spoke the
truth that he had dreamt twice of this place for treasure causing them to laugh at him and was left over
there by them by saying till the moment the leader came back and told him not to believe in these
dreams which he also got once at the same spot for the treasure placed behind the roots of the
sycamore in the fields of Spain in an abandoned church.

That’s how, the boy got to know that the treasure was over there where he first had the vision about it
but the destiny took him this far just for teaching several things along the way and making him deserving
enough which he did by listening to his intuition and never giving up by all the odds which were in put
into his way intentionally. The obstacles are the ones which forces us beyond our comfort zone and helps
us to realize what we truly are made for and capable of via testing likewise in the Santiago’s story.
