Course Outcomes: Through this course students should be able to

CO1 :: Understand of cloud computing, encompassing its evolution, characteristics, applications,


benefits, and challenges.

CO2 :: Examine a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure security, data security, and


privacy issues in cloud computing and gain insights into Storage Area Networks (SANs), Trends in
Security and IAM.

CO3 :: Analyze scheduling problems, including an understanding of different types of scheduling,


techniques for independent and dependent tasks, and the distinctions between static, dynamic,
energy efficient and real time scheduling approaches.
CO4 :: Explore the comprehensive understanding of cloud computing service models,
encompassing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a
Service (SaaS), Function as a Service (FaaS) and deployment models and familiarity

CO5 :: Examine a profound understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), SLA Monitoring
and Reporting Tools, encompassing an overview, types, life cycle, and the management
processes involved in ensuring effective service quality and delivery.
CO6 :: Apply a comprehensive understanding of virtualization, including its overview, types,
benefits, and a practical knowledge of hypervisors, Amazon Web Service (AWS), equipping them
with skills for efficient resource utilization in diverse computing env

Introduction to cloud computing : Evolution of Cloud Computing, Cloud Computing Overview,
Characteristics, Applications, Benefits, Challenges.
Unit II
Cloud security and storage : Infrastructure Security, Data Security & Privacy Issues, Legal Issues
in Cloud Computing. Overview; Storage as a Service, Benefits and Challenges, Storage Area Networks
(SANs).
IAM : Identity and Access Management (IAM) in Cloud Environments.

Emerging Technologies and Trends in Cloud Security : Latest advancements in cloud security
technologies, such as zero-trust architecture and serverless security.
Unit III
Scheduling in cloud : Overview of Scheduling problem, Different types of scheduling, Scheduling for
independent and dependent tasks, Static vs. Dynamic scheduling.
Energy-Efficient Scheduling in Cloud Environments : Explore techniques for optimizing task
scheduling
Real-Time Scheduling in Cloud Systems : Explore the requirements and challenges of real-time
task scheduling in cloud environments.
Unit IV
Service and deployment models : Cloud Computing Service Models: Infrastructure as a Service,
Platform as a Service, Software as a Service; Cloud Computing Deployment Models: Private Cloud;
Public Cloud, Community Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Major Cloud Service providers.
Function as a Service (FaaS) : Discuss how FaaS allows developers to deploy individual functions
or pieces of code in response to events.
Unit V
Service Level Agreement (SLA) management : Overview of SLA, Types of SLA, SLA Life Cycle,
SLA Management Process.
SLA Monitoring and Reporting Tools : Introduce tools and technologies used for real-time
monitoring and reporting of SLA metrics.
Unit VI
Virtualization concepts : Overview of Virtualization, Types of Virtualization, Benefits of
Virtualization, Hypervisors.
Amazon Web Service (AWS) : Data storage, S3 Static Website, Security and Deployment.
