SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2024

• Problem Statement ID – SIH1545

• Problem Statement Title- Development of a non-electrical device for

tracking the movement of the sun for movement of the solar panels, increasing
their efficiency.

• Theme: Renewable/substainable Energy

• PS Category- Hardware

• Team ID-

• Team Name: “CREATIVE CREW”

CREATIVE CREW
IDEA TITLE

Proposed Solution

• An innovative solution is designed to optimize the efficiency of solar energy collection by

continuously orienting solar panels towards the sun
• This system employs sensors and motors to detect the sun's position and adjust the angle of the
solar panels accordingly throughout the day.
• The solar panel is moved by servo motor so that sun’s light is able to remain aligned with the solar
panel.
• Unlike static solar panels, which are fixed in one position, solar tracking systems can increase
energy capture by maintaining the optimal angle of incidence between the incoming sunlight and
the panel surface..

CREATIVE CREW TECHNICAL APPROACH

1.Arduino Microcontroller: Serving as the central control unit.

2.Light-Dependent Resistors (LDRs): Sensing the sun’s position by detecting light intensity.

3.Servo Motors: Adjusting the angle of the solar panels based on signals from the Arduino.

4.Power Supply: Providing necessary power to the system components.

5.Software Implementation: Writing and uploading code to the Arduino to process LDR inputs
and control the servo motors
