PURPOSE
This document provides guidance to support policies that define how Oracle delivers error correction (product defect bug
fixes|patches) that affect Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE). These rules and guidelines allow you plan and coordinate your
installation, patching, and migration to ensure you are able to receive all necessary patches, bug fixes and continue to receive
full assistance from both Support and Development.

The Lifetime Support Policy (LSP) defines the type of support delivered during each support phase (Premier,
Extended, Sustaining) of a product’s lifecycle.
The final patch set release in a major release series is known as the terminal patch set. The Lifetime Support Policy
(LSP) provides Premier and Extended Support dates on the terminal release only.
The Error Correction Support Policy (ECS) document, linked and maintained in Doc Id 209768.1, further details
how bug fixes are delivered during these LSP phases and establish policies for generating new fixes based on the
defined grace periods. As a common rule, Oracle provides patches for products in Premier and Extended Support as
long as those products are still covered under the error correction grace period.
These documents should be used together to determine a specific situation and plan your maintenance timeline
accordingly.

Note:
(a.1) The original Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 12.2.1.4 uses an internal technology stack that
depends on Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) 12.2.1.3, including WebLogic Server and Coherence 12.2.1.3. As of June
2023, general error correction (delivery of bug fixes) for this FMW 12.2.1.3 technology stack has ended. Oracle will
proactively provide limited error correction for the FMW 12.2.1.3 technology stack required by OBIEE 12.2.1.4, with the
following criteria:
Security fixes will be limited to high or critical Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) scores CVSS 7 or
greater.
Oracle will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide Severity 1 and security fixes and deliver periodic updates
for BI 12.2.1.4.0 Stack Patch Bundle as Bundle Patches (“BPs”) or Patch Set Updates (“PSUs”).
Any activities related to new certifications, specifications, or standards, including cryptographic APIs of any kind,
including certification with new browsers and/or operating system releases, are specifically excluded.”
Customers are encouraged to upgrade or migrate to Oracle Analytics Cloud, or Oracle Analytics on OCI MarketPlace
/ Oracle Analytics on-premises (latest versions) for the most up-to-date modern features, strategic investments, and

For those versions of the product where error correction support has ended, they continue to be supported under the
Lifetime Support Policy.
Premier Support provides you with maintenance and support for Oracle Fusion Middleware products from their general
availability date to expiration.
Extended Support (if available, and approved) provides you with an additional support time for specific Oracle releases for an
additional fee.
Extended Support may not include certification with some new third-party products/versions.
Sustaining Support is available after Premier Support expires, or if the error correction grace period expires. As program
releases under Sustaining Support are no longer fully supported, information and skills regarding those releases may be
limited. The availability of hardware systems to run such program releases may also be limited. Unless otherwise stated in this
section, program releases eligible for Sustaining Support will receive Software Update License & Support limited to the
following:
Program updates, fixes, security alerts, and critical patch updates created during Premier Support and Extended
Support (if offered and only after the Extended Support period ends)
Tax, legal, and regulatory updates (availability may vary by country and/or program) created during Premier Support
and Extended Support (if offered and only after the Extended Support Period ends)
Upgrade scripts (availability may vary by program) created during Premier Support and Extended Support (if offered
and only after the Extended Support Period ends)
Major product and technology releases, which includes general maintenance releases, selected functionality releases,
and documentation updates
Assistance with service requests, on a commercially reasonable basis, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
Access to My Oracle Support (24 x 7 web-based customer support systems), including the ability to log service
requests online
Non-technical customer service during normal business hours
New program updates, fixes, security alerts, and critical patch updates
New tax, legal, and regulatory updates
New upgrade scripts
Certification with new third-party products/versions
24-hour commitment and response guidelines for Severity 1 service requests.
Previously released fixes or updates that Oracle no longer supports
OBIEE 10g
This version is deprecated, the dates for the end of error correction support for the last two releases of OBIEE 10g are shown
below:
Note:
There are no extended support options available for any 10g versions.
Premier Support has ended for all versions of OBIEE 10g. You are advised to plan your upgrade to Oracle Analytics
Server or Oracle Analytics Cloud (via OBIEE 11g upgrade path).
