Communication Skills Proficiency (CSP) Test

Instructions to Candidates

Dear Aspirants,

Greetings from WeSchool!

As a part of WeSchool’s ‘Selection Process 2025’, you are required to complete WeSchool’s
Remote Proctoring based Communication Skills Proficiency (CSP) Test, which will be
conducted virtually (online).

Completing the CSP Test is mandatory, as it is an integral component of the overall


shortlisting process. CSP Test from WeSchool is an engaging 45-minute online test,
comprising of two sections designed to assess your strengths in the following areas:
1. Oral & Written Communication Skills and
2. Listening Skills

Your responses in the CSP Test, and at the Personal Interview stage, together will enable
WeSchool to understand your potential and get to know you better. This would enable
WeSchool in selecting the most appropriate candidates, with an appropriate fit, for
Program(s).

Please Note:
• Only candidates who meet the eligibility and entrance cut-off will be considered for
Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GDPI) and Merit Listing.
• While it is mandatory for you to appear for the CSP Test, to participate in the GDPI
process (subject to being shortlisted), merely participating in the CSP Test does not
indicate that you are shortlisted.

Pre-requisites for taking CSP Test:


• Ensure you are ready with a good working laptop/desktop with good internet
bandwidth. Your webcam must be switched on during CSP Test.
• Remember to charge your device fully (100%), before taking the CSP Test.
• Click on the tab “Take CSP” on your dashboard to start your test. The link will be
active as per your schedule.
• Once the test starts, CSP must be completed within one hour. No extra time will be
provided.
• You need to complete the CSP Test using a single device only. Any change in device
could result in some loss of time from within the overall time limit, allotted to you.

Communication Skills Proficiency (CSP) Instructions to Candidates

Weschool has tied-up with SHL, a leading organisation in candidate assessment, globally trusted
and used by various reputed corporates for conducting CSP test.
Below is the guidelines, procedure and Do’s / Don’ts for undertaking the CSP Test.
Basic Requirements for the Assessment:
1. Device Specifications
o A personal computer or laptop with a fully functional webcam and microphone is
mandatory.
2. Internet Connectivity
o Ensure smooth and uninterrupted internet connectivity throughout the test
session.
o A minimum internet speed of 2 Mbps is required for optimal performance.
3. Test Validity and Start Time
o Candidates must begin the test within the validity period assigned to them.
4. Handling Test Interruptions
o If the test is interrupted due to power failure or internet disconnection, wait for at
least 5 minutes before attempting to resume.
o Use the same login credentials to resume the test, ensuring it is done within 2
hours of the test being interrupted.

Browser and Operating System (OS) Requirements:


1. Supported Browsers
o Use the latest versions of either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome for the best
experience.
2. Operating System Considerations
o If using Windows 8, ensure your browser is updated to the latest version.
o Disable all system/application pop-ups and notifications before starting the test.
3. Webcam Application Conflicts
o Shut down or uninstall any applications that use the webcam (e.g., Skype, Zoom,
Teams) to avoid disruptions during the test.

Important Instructions and Prohibited Actions:


• Stay on the Test Screen:
o Do not open any other browser, switch between test windows, or minimize the
test window during the session.
• Avoid Unfair Practices:
o Any attempt to open other windows, tabs, or applications will result in the test
being permanently locked.
o Any detection of unfair means during the test will lead to disqualification.

Candidate Test Platform
 Upon clicking the test URL, the candidate will be redirected to the SHL Testing Platform.
 Candidates must review and accept the Data Protection Notice, which confirms that SHL
is authorized to record their data and responses. Once accepted, they can proceed with
the test. Please refer to the attached screenshot for further guidance.

Remote Proctoring
 The test is proctored; hence candidates are required to review and accept the Proctoring
Consent before starting the test. This agreement is mandatory for all proctored tests, and
failure to accept it will prevent the candidate from proceeding with the test.
 After providing consent, the platform will prompt candidates to fill out a basic registration
form. Candidates are advised to carefully fill out all required fields before proceeding.
 Candidates must fill out the registration form and agree to the Terms and Conditions to
proceed further.
 The platform will redirect the candidates to the Module Listing Page where candidates
will be shown with the modules that they need to complete.

The test comprises of two modules –


1) SVAR – Language Proficiency Test
2) WriteX – Written Communication
Candidates need to complete both.

 Candidates must note down the Test Id for Live Support assistance (if any) and for future
reference.
 For the SVAR/Language Proficiency Test, the assessment will begin with a Sample
Question. The purpose of the sample question is to ensure the following:

1. The candidate’s microphone and voice input are functioning properly.


2. The platform can accurately capture and process the candidate’s responses.

 Candidates should use the sample question to test their microphone settings and ensure
their voice is clear and audible. If any technical issues arise, they are advised to resolve
them before proceeding with the actual test.
 In the SVAR module, candidates will receive instructions in the following ways:
1. On-Screen Display: All instructions will be clearly displayed on the screen for reference.
2. Voice Guidance: An instructor will provide additional instructions through voice prompts
to guide candidates throughout the test.
 Candidates are advised to pay close attention to both the on-screen and voice instructions
to ensure a smooth testing experience.
 The instructions for WriteX are clearly defined and provided on the portal. These
instructions are self-explanatory, making it easy for candidates to understand and follow
without additional clarification.

Do’s and Don’ts for Attending the Online Test


Do’s

• Ensure Webcam and Mic of the test taking system are working properly.
• Ensure proper lighting in the room where you are taking the test.
• Ensure silence in the place/room from where you are appearing for your test.
• Ensure the webcam focus is on your face and clearly visible in the video bubble.
• Ensure the light source is falling on your face to enable camera to capture the pic.
• Ensure that during the test your face is fully framed in the webcam, and no partial or
complete exit from the camera’s field of view is permitted.
• Wear transparent and non-reflecting glasses/lenses if needed.
Please Note: The test is conducted under a strictly monitored proctoring environment, and any
violations will result in immediate disqualification and termination of the test session. Under
no circumstances will a retest be permitted.

Don’ts

• Do not talk to anyone while your test is in progress.


• Do not leave your place for any reason during the test.
• Do not have any light source behind your face.
• Do not cover your face with Hair, clothing (mask), hands or anything else.
• Do not have any background noise/voices/music or Television.
• Do not wear sunglasses during the test.
• Do not entertain any other people in the room.
• Do not communicate with any person by any means during the test.
• Do not have any programs or applications like MS Teams, zoom etc. that use the webcam,
mic and screen share running during the test.
• Do NOT take the test on tablets or cell phone.
