Reaction Paper: Movie “GOMBURZA”
The movie I watched which is the GOMBURZA resonates deeply
with today’s generation, not just as a historical narrative but as a mirror reflecting the resilience and courage of the Filipino spirit. It vividly portrays the heroism of Fathers Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora, whose sacrifices remind us of the fight against injustice and the value of standing up for what is right traits that remain relevant in our society today. As I watch the movie, I can’t help but see the persistence of these injustices in modern times, such as corruption and inequality, urging us to question our roles in creating a better nation. The film highlights Filipino traits like bayanihan (communal unity), paninindigan (firm principles), and pagiging makabayan (patriotism), inspiring us to emulate these virtues in addressing today’s societal challenges. Through its powerful storytelling, GOMBURZA challenges us to reflect on our Filipino identity and reminds us that we have the strength to push for meaningful change even in the face of oppression. I also noticed how the movie emphasizes the value of education and enlightenment as tools for empowerment, reflecting how knowledge remains a powerful weapon against oppression. It also sheds light on the enduring struggle for justice, which mirrors our ongoing fight for equity and fairness in contemporary issues. GOMBURZA serves as a call to action for the youth, reminding us of our vital role in shaping the future and continuing the legacy of bravery, unity, and love for the country. As a viewer and fellow Filipino, we are left inspired to embody these values in our daily lives and to remember that true patriotism lies in putting the greater good above ourselves.
