This Boom luffing motor pump unit is provided with 22 Kw Electrical motor (Tp.No.9) driving a open
loop pump (Tp.No.12).The HPU provides hydraulic fluid for raising and lowering the boom, Hydraulic
operator cabin Cylinders & Bucket Wheel Chute lifting cylinder. The pressure output can be monitored
visually by a pressure gauge (Tp.No.33).
As soon as electric motor TP No.9 is switched on, the open loop pump will start delivering flow to the
system. The system pressure will be read through pressure gauge 0-280 kg/sq.cm (TP No.37&38)
FS1: NO contact of Float switch FS1 (Tp.No.5) is used by default, when the oil is filled to the
minimum level, the float switch contact will change from NO to NC which indicated that oil level is
above minimum level for safe start of Electrical motor.
LS1: Check ball valve opening/close with limit switch LS1 (TP.No.41), If the ball valve should
always be opened then it is safe to turn on the Electric Motor.
After checking the pre-condition Electric motor (TP.NO. 9) will be switched ON, Pump will started
with no load. The D.C valve (Tp.No.34) is a 4 way 3 position spring centre unit controlling the position
and movement of the boom.
As soon as solenoid S1 of (TP.No.35) & S3 of (TP.No.34) is energized, depending upon set point to DC
valve the pump will deliver the flow in the system from port A to port A of luffing cylinders on bore
side. The return oil from the luffing cylinders piston side port B will go back to tank.

As soon as solenoid S1 of (TP.No.35) & S2 of (TP.No.34) is energized, depending upon set point to DC
valve the pump will deliver the flow in the system from port B to port B of luffing cylinders on bore
side. The return oil from the luffing cylinders piston side port A will go back to tank.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and S6 of (TP No.27) is energized, the hydraulic oil
pushes the gate adjustment main chute cylinder (TP No.51) Forward. Thus, forward motion of
the gate adjustment main chute cylinders is done.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and S7 of (TP No.27) is energized, the hydraulic oil
retracts the gate adjustment main chute cylinder (TP No.51). Thus, reverse motion of gate
adjustment main chute cylinder is done.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and S4 of (TP No.31) is energized, the hydraulic oil
pushes the belt take up cylinder (TP No.48) Forward. Thus forward motion of the belt take up
cylinders is done.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and S5 of (TP No.31) is energized, the hydraulic oil
retracts the belt take up cylinder (TP No.48). Thus reverse motion of belt take cylinder is done.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and S10 of (TP No.18) is energized, the hydraulic oil
pushes the operator cabin Cylinders (TP No.58) Forward. Thus forward motion of the operator
cabin cylinders is done.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and S11 of (TP No.18) is energized, the hydraulic oil
retracts the operator cabin Cylinders (TP No.58). Thus reverse motion of the operator cabin
cylinders is done.

As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and solenoid S8 of (TP No.23) is energized, the
hydraulic oil pushes the Bucket Wheel Chute lifting cylinder (TP No.55) Forward. Thus
forward motion of the Gate Adjustment Bucket Wheel Chute lifting cylinders is done.
As soon as solenoid S12 of (TP No.16) and solenoid S9 of (TP No.23) is energized, the
hydraulic oil retracts the Bucket Wheel Chute lifting cylinder (TP No.55). Thus reverse motion
of Gate Adjustment Bucket Wheel Chute lifting cylinder is done.
In case of low oil level in the reservoir, complete system should be switched off through
float switch FS1 (TP No. 5).
Temperature SENSOR RTD (TP No. 4). with two set points. One set to alarm and other
one set to trip the complete system.
Main electric motor of Boom Luffing And Operator Cabin (TP No. 9) should not be
switched on in case of the following.
In case, if the return line filter (TP No. 7) is clogged electrical signal will be available showing
clogging of the filter and used to produce alarm signal.

SAFTETY FEATURES:
Hydraulic Powerpack is provided with unloading relief valve (TP No.35&16 ) to protect
system from excess pressure by unloading the Hydraulic oil to the Hydraulic Tank.
A over centre valve (TP No.46) Fitted on the Boom Luff Hydraulic cylinder does
pressure relief, load holding function. In case of internal leakage from oil seals, holds cylinders
in its position from creeping and any excess load on Boom shall be protected by Pressure relief.
In Case of Hose failure, the counter balance valve in power pack shall keep cylinders in
its position.
In case of power failure, The hydraulic pump will come to neutral condition and will
not generate further flow and pressure in system. However, the control valves keep the
hydraulic cylinders in its position by having counter balance valve in the manifold block.
