Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan Grade10 Quarter 4 Week 1
Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan Grade10 Quarter 4 Week 1
I. Objectives
Internet
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
-Let the learners lead the prayer
2. Greetings
-Introduce yourself to the class and greet them good morning.
3. Checking Attendance
-Ask who is absent this morning
4. Classroom Setting
-Let the learners arrange the chair
-Let them know the classroom rules
-Collect their assignments
B. Activity Proper
1. Review
-Ask the learners about the previous topic you discussed
2. Motivation
-The teacher is going to ask pupils in the class to respond to the activity. Allow them to
play the "4 pics 1 word" game. The mechanics are simple; simply use the scrambled letters to
find the correct answer. Students who correctly answer the question will receive 10 points for
recitation and participation.

Measure of Position
-It is the number that tells where the scores stands relative to the others in a set of data.
-Is it a measure whether a value is about the average, or whether its unusually high or low.
-It is use for quantitative data that falls on some numerical skills.
We have three common measures of position the Quartiles, Deciles, and Percentiles.
Quartile
- From the word “quart” we have 4, division by 4. Like in our quarterly examination, it is divided
into 4 quarters or 4 subgroups, 1st quarter, 2nd quarter and so on.
- There are 3 quartiles, the lower quartile (25%), middle quartile or median (50%), and the upper
quartile (75%)
Interquartile Range
Examples 1
The owner of a coffee shop recorded the number of costumer who came into his café
each hour in a day. The results were 14, 10, 12, 9, 17 5, 8, 9, 14, 10, and 11. Find the lower
quartile and upper quartile of the data.
First step is to get the data in Ascending Order : 5, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 12, 14, 14, 17
The Lower quartile is the value that is between the middle value and the least value in the data
set.
The upper quartile is the value that is between the middle value and the greatest value in the
data set
And for the interquartile, Difference between Upper quartile and Lower Quartile
So, IQR = Q3 – Q1 = 14 – 9 = 5

Example 2:
Consider the set of scores in a quiz in Math 10 of Section Rizal 11, 13, 14, 15, 15, 16, 19, 19,
20. Find Q1, Q2, Q3.
Q2 = Median = 15
E. Application
1. Calculate the median, lower quartile, upper quartile, and interquartile range of the following
data set
of values: 20, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, and 26
2. What will be the upper quartile for the following set of numbers? 26, 19, 5, 7, 6, 9, 16, 12, 18,
2, 1.

V. Assignment
Students will have assignment to ask a 10 random students about their grade level and
determine the Q1, Q2, Q3, and interquartile of their data.
Example:
Name Year
Level
Ana 7
Denis 10
Aira 10
Patrick 12
Carl 11
Gladys 12
Michael 8
Mond 9
Des 8
Bryan 9
