Easy Reading - 'The School Trip'
There are
twenty-five of us in our class. We went to the zoo. Our teacher
Miss Martin and three helpers took us. The zoo is fifteen miles
from our school. We set off at 9:15. We
travelled by coach. The coach driver was a
nice man who gave us a sweet each. The
journey was fun but Romesh was naughty.
Before we went into the zoo, Miss Martin
told us we must stick together and not
wander away from the group. We walked round the zoo for one
hour and then a zoo keeper gave us a talk. It was about what the
animals eat. At midday, we had our lunch. We took sandwiches with
us and we ate them at picnic benches. Later in the afternoon, we watched the seals
having their dinner. The zoo keeper threw fish at them and they jumped up and caught
the fish! It was exciting. On the return journey, we stopped at McDonald’s and had a
Happy Meal each. Romesh behaved on the return journey as he was tired. We arrived
back at school at 3:15. It was a lovely day. By Philip
