RECTANGULAR COORDINATE SYSTEM:

Learning Competency:

 Illustrates the rectangular coordinate system and its uses.

Objectives:

 Draw an image of a real-word object that is related to CoViD- 19 pandemic into a rectangular
coordinate system.
 Label some of the points according to their location in the graph/coordinate plane.
 Explain the relevance of the image drawn to the current situation(pandemic).

Activity – “Plot the Picture”

DIRECTIONS: Do the following in a blank sheet of graphing paper. (You can use colored papers in
designing your output or you may paste it on a card board/folder.

1. Think of an image or object in the real world or in your surroundings that you would like to draw,
which can be related to the CoViD-19 pandemic that we have experienced in the past year and months.
Any image of simple objects, living things, buildings like church, school or city structures will do. You can
also browse the internet for the image.

2. In a graphing paper, make a rectangular coordinate system (x and y axes) with the origin or point (0,0)
at the center of it, dividing the whole graphing paper into 4 quadrants.

3. Draw the image that you have thought in step (1) of this activity.

4. Select 8 points from the image that you have drawn in step (3), then label these points according to
their location on the coordinate system. You must choose 2 points per quadrant.

5. Add a title which the image is about and a short explanation why you chose the image to draw and
how is it related to our current situation.

Be guided by the following rubric.

Points Indicators
25 The image drawn is clear and neat; the instructions are excellently executed; No grammatical issues
in the explanation; The image is related to the current situation.
19 The image drawn is presentable and neat; The instructions are well executed; No grammatical
issues in the explanation; The image is related to the current situation.
13 The image is presentable; The instructions are properly executed; A few of grammatical issues in
the explanation; The image is related to the current situation.
7 The image drawn is unpresentable; The instructions are not executed very well; A lot of
grammatical issues in the explanation; The image is not related to the current situation.
