Smartphones have a lot of apps such as games, youtube, google, and play store. They are
so addictive that they are like drugs. If you are addicted to the phone, you can’t spend time with
your friends or to study( therapy ). So why do we have to stop using smart phones for a very long
time?
Smartphone addiction is spending more time on social media and games than meeting
people and talking with your friends(therapy). It can change not only personality, but it can also
change someone’s life (pt). Nowadays, a lot of people watch smartphones while they are
walking. but it can cause bumps and traffic accidents (NIH). So you can have some accidents
because of smartphone addiction. So these are the reasons why you should not use a smartphone
Smartphone addiction can cause sleep deficiency. You can’t sleep well because of blue
light from screens. It can distract you from sleeping. If you can’t sleep well, you can’t focus well.
So you shouldn’t look at your smartphone before sleep ( addiction center ). And don’t use your
smartphone before 1 hour when you sleep. You should turn on the do not disturb mode and read
some books to focus or you can wear Blue-light blocking glasses ( Wired ). So the sound and
blue screen from it can disturb you from sleeping. So don’t use your smartphone before 1 hour
Smartphones have a lot of kinds of addiction, but Cybersex addiction is a very serious
problem. Cybersex addiction is when teenagers are watching pictures or videos for 19 year olds
(Valley spring). Teenagers are searching things about it. So how can we stop? We should add
mental health support and add education about addiction. Almost 10% of teenagers are having
cybersex addiction (korea science). Because of smartphones, a lot of teenagers are getting danger
from it.
It can cause loneliness and depression. You can have loneliness because you are having
much more time than talking and playing with your friends (News). So you should keep in touch
with your friends for example, massaging, calling or meeting. And join groups with your friends
and share your feelings (Nhs). Smartphone addiction is one of the worst drugs. It could be worse
than the drugs. So you should set a time and watch it and don’t forget to study before you watch
(becoming minimalist).
In conclusion, A smartphone is like a drug. It can cause loneliness, depression, and cyber
sex addiction. Smartphones can be useful, but if there are too many, it can be very very hard to
escape. So when you use a smartphone, use a time limit or alarm and when you sleep, turn on the
no disturb mode to sleep and before 1 hour, don’t use smartphone because blue light can disturb
you from sleeping. So let’s use smartphones when you finish your work and use them wisely.
