SYNOPSIS OF DESERTATION FOR M.ScIIndYEAR (COM.SCIENCE) PART II

1) INTRODUCTION:With the advent in technology, it is necessary to use technology in our work. It is need of the hour to compete with the fast growing world. For this we have to do more work in less time with less effort. In Shahbabu college of Arts and Science ,Patur number of students are increasing, work load is increasing so that to avoid manual work we should computerize the college administration system. This will reduce the time and paperless work can be done. Also it will be easy to get records of students, staff, etc. This project is being developed to enable the management of college to work easily and to get more time for other works.

2) AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:-

College management system is presently going on manually. New admissions of students are done and maintained in an admission register, staff record is maintained in a register, salary of staff members is calculated manually and lots of documentation is needed. After the project development new admissions will be done in computer directly which will then be stored in a database automatically and can be retrieved easily whenever needed. Similarly staff record can be easily maintained and retrieved whenever needed. Salary of employees can be calculated automatically as well as a record can be maintained which is a cumbersome work when done manually.

3) PROPOSED PLAN FOR RESEARCH WORK:-

1) Handling and maintaining of students and staff records and register such as admission register , salary sheets has become cumbersome .so we are making it easy through automation. 2) Chances of errors increase while calculating salary. So due to automation accuracy can be maintained and it also enhances speed of work. 3) Searching and retrieving of students or staff information is tiresome and involves lots of time so computerization enables easy retrieval of needed information. 4) Lots of paper work and storage space is needed which is a prime problem because of computerization it facilitates paperless work and also increase standard. 5) Project contains visual basic as front-end and MS-ACCESS as backend. These software are generally available in college and can be easily operated.

4. LITERATURE SURVEY

The following are the college management systems developed before and are in . 1) A system is developed by Khan Asif Ahmed in the year 1999 of College Administration for Shri Shivaji College of Arts , Commerce and Science,Akola. It has Visual Basic as Frontend and Foxpro and Access as Backend. 2) A system is developed by Syed Haroon Syed Yusuf in the year 2005 of Payroll system for staff for RLT Science college , Akola. It has Foxpro as Frontend and Backend. 3) A system is developed by department of computer science in Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University , Amravati . which is in use since then. 4) A system is in use in Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj college of Engineering,Shegaon. Which was developed by Computer Department of the College.
