This manual is written under the assumption that the products have been fully
assembled in the Multisuns factory and is ready to work in the way they are
supposed to. And, this manual is primarily written to provide Multisuns
resellers or regional distributors a quick reference guide about how to cable
the recording interface cards to telephone network in parallel. For questions
such as channel mapping or how to configure hardware cards, check up other
manuals concerned or alternatively the Multisuns technical supports.
Chapter 2. DCRS-9900 Recording Server Box
Connect the power cord to commercial power supply outlet as shown below.
Then, set the power switch to the ON position.
Set the red switch to 115 or 230 (reference below image) according to your
voltage rating. Then, connect the power cord to commercial power supply
outlet. Lastly, set the power switch to the ON position.
2.2. Installing KeyPro (Dongle) to the Box
The location of the parallel port shall vary, depending on the type of chassis.
But it is usually closes to the switching power supply unit.
The cabling is dependent to the type of recording cards used. However 3 types
of sockets (RJ-14, RJ-45 and RJ-21) are used, irrespective which type the card
is.
DCRS-9900 utilizes UTIC3 card, the ISA card developed by Multisuns, for
recording 2-wire analog audio inputs. DCRS-9900 may utilize LD card, the
PCI card developed and provided by Ai-Logix, for recording 2-wire analog
audio inputs too, depending on particular case. To record 2-wire or 4-wire
digital inputs (PBX digital extension and T1/E1), DCRS-9900 utilizes the
NGX and DP cards, the PCI cards developed and provided by Ai-Logix.
Following image illustrates how MX-80 board is used to expand the density of
NGX-800-PCI board.
Four RJ-14 connectors are used. Refer to the image in below for details of the
numbering of sockets.
Refer to the below image for details of RJ-14 connector pin assignments.
One RJ-21 connector is used. Refer to the below image for details of Channel
Numbering.
Refer to the below image for details of RJ-21 connector pin assignments.
We follow the 50-pin cable color codes commonly used on the Key Telephone
System. Refer to the below table for details of color codes for 50-pin cable.
2.3.4. Analog LD-809-PCI Card
Same as LD-16/24-PCI card, one RJ-21 connector is used. Refer to the below
image for details of making 2-wire PBX digital extension line connections
with RJ-21 connector.
Refer to the below image for details of making 4-wire BRI connection with
RJ-21 connector or alternatively making 4-wire PBX digital extension line
connections with RJ-21 connector.
Same as Multisuns UTIC3-16-ISA card, we follow the 50-pin cable color
codes commonly used on the
Key Telephone System. Refer to the below table for details of color codes for
50-pin cable.
2.3.7. Digital DP-3209/6409-PCI Cards
Refer to the below image for details of making T-1 connections with Network
Ethernet (Example).
Refer to the below image for details of making E-1 connections with Network
Ethernet (Example).
DP-PCI card LED Indicators are indicated blow.
DCRS software version 3.x, DCRS box supports card assortments. A single
DCRS box can be having any type of supported cards in any number. This
means that highly arranged card assortment shall result in complexity on
channel mapping. Channel mapping gets both DCRS software and hardware
cards involved. This section focuses on hardware cards only and this selection
is intended to provide an outline for typical applications. Should you have
questions, contact Multisuns technical support or DCRS resellers.
2.4.1. ISA-based Backplane 14-slot Edition
Inside the DCRS metal box, following 14-slot backplane (see below image) is
applied. Refer to the image about the slot number plan.
Inside the DCRS metal box, 20-slot backplane (reference below image) is
used. Refer to the image about the slot numbering plan.
2.4.3. PCI-based Backplane 14-slot Edition
This is usually referred as DCRS/R6 edition where Ai-Logix PCI card is used
for higher channel density.
Inside the DCRS metal box, 20-slot backplane (reference below image) is
used. Refer to the image about the slot numbering plan.
2.5. Sound Replay Utilizing Voice Card’s Audio-out Port
Connect the factory-supplied audio adapter cord (see below) from the audio-
out port of the last available UTIC3 card to the multimedia speakers.
By default, LD-PCI AND NGX-PCI cards don’t come with an audio-out port.
However an optional receptacle (reference below) can be used for supporting
sound replay. As far as the card design is concerned, this audio-out port
(usually referred as “129 Line”) takes up one recording channel.
When this audio-out port is enabled, the number of recording channel capacity
is deducted by one.
Same as UTIC3 card, connect the factory-supplied audio adapter cord (see
below) from the audio-out port of the last available UTIC3 card to the
multimedia speakers.
Note: Sound replay using PC sound card is standard configuration in the case
Ai-Logix PCI card is used.
INLP-8PC card is used for forming high impedance with telephone card.
While INLP card is used, the right most card is the first card.
3.5. Voice Mixing Card Numbering Plan
