carbonation flexible coating based on pure acrylic dispersion with an excellent adhesion and a superior
exterior durability in variable weather conditions. It meets the specifications of the building industry & is char-
acterized by many features that promote and contribute to the anti-carbonation performance, mainly:
* Good resistance to carbon dioxide diffusion, low water vapour permeability and low moisture transmission
* High film toughness, good through drying, high dirt resistance and non-yellowing
* High dust-proof characteristics
* Low film shrinkage, good crack bridging & very low water absorption
* Excellent resistance to alkalis, saponification and prevention of salts efflorescence
* Resistance to detergent solutions, oils & greases & stains
TECHNICAL DATA
Tinocryl Emulsion Anti-Carbonation Clear Coating, Nr. 16100 is based on pure acrylic dispersion
complying favourably with the qualitative requirements and criteria of acrylic anti-carbonation clear coating of
International Standards.
COMPOSITION:
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Tinocryl Emulsion Anti-Carbonation Clear Coating – Low VOC, Series 16100 is a Low Odor / Low VOC
product containing <10 g/l and complying with the following standards:
RECOMMENDED USES
On exterior and interior new & previously coated surfaces of concrete, masonry, fairfaced concrete & cement
plaster. Concrete structures, façades, walls & ceilings of car parks, over & under passes, bridges, tunnels &
places subjected to effects of carbonation, water & weather etc… are ideal fields of application.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces must be solid, clean & dry, free from oil, grease, salt, efflorescence & other contaminants.
Newly laid concrete should be allowed to become fully cured. Highly alkaline & acid surfaces should be
neutralized.
To level-up concrete & masonry surfaces, fill blow holes, crevices, hollows, irregularities etc... with
TINOCRETE FILL COAT (refer to TINOCRETE product specs).
Deteriorated previous coatings, weak, friable & blistered paints or chalky substances should be removed &
cleaned properly.
PRIMING
Tinocryl Emulsion Anti-Carbonation Clear Coating, Nr. 16100 is a self-priming clear coating which could
be applied directly to well prepared substrates to give proper performance.
THINNING
Dilute Tinocryl Emulsion Anti-Carbonation Clear Coating, Nr. 16100 with clean water by about 50% for
the first coat when to be directly applied to plastered and fair-faced concrete substrates, and between 15-
20% for subsequent coats.
APPLICATION
As per code of practice and MPI Architectural Painting Specification Manual.
Brush, roll or spray in uniform thickness.
Thickness of coating film depends on condition of surface. Three coats are usually applied to give
satisfactory results.
Clean tools and equipment with water immediately after use.
CONDITION OF APPLICATION
Can be applied at surface temperatures from 5°C. Apply only to surfaces with temperatures between 4°C to
10°C above the dew point. This product may be applied at relative humidity ranging from 30% to 85%. Good
ventilation is necessary. The product should not be exposed to mechanical stress until fully cured.
