PRODUCT A two component high solids phenolic epoxy coating. Designed as a chemical resistant lining for steel
DESCRIPTION storage tanks and pipelines.

INTENDED USES Highly resistant to crude oil, unleaded fuel and a wide range of solvents and chemicals.
Can be applied direct to steel as a holding primer with an extended over coating period of up to 21 days.

Curing Agent Versapox 78 Activator

Mix Ratio 4 parts Base : 1 part Activator by volume

Specific Gravity Mixed: 1.33

Volume Solids 78%

Recommended Film Thickness 125 - 200 µm DFT (160 - 256 µm WFT)

Optimum performance Apply 2 coats at 125 – 150 µm DFT

Theoretical Spreading Rate 6.25 m² / litre @ 125µm DFT

Application Method Airless Spray, Brush or Roller

Drying Times at 20ºC Touch Dry 6 hours Hard Dry 14 hours(recoat 14 hours)

Re-coat After 14 hours and within 21 Days of initial application.

Return to service 7 days at 20ºC

SURFACE Steel:
PREPARATION
Ensure surfaces are free from contamination. Abrasive blast with grit to minimum BS 7079 standard SA 2 ½ -
surface profile depth 75-100 microns.

Mechanical tools may also be used providing a surface profile of minimum 75 microns can be achieved. Do
not polish/burnish the steel surface.

Concrete:

Remove all laitance and other contaminants by blast cleaning. Ensure the concrete is dry to a reading of less
than 10% moisture.

APPLICATION
The surface must be kept clean and dry, and VERSAPOX 78 applied within 4 hours and before any visible
signs of deterioration of the cleaned surface.

VERSAPOX 78 is supplied as a composite pack of 20Lt and 5Lt units.


Always mix a complete unit in the proportions supplied.
Agitate Base with a power agitator.
Agitate Hardener Curing Agent with a power agitator.
Combine entire contents of Curing Agent with Base and mix thoroughly with power agitator.

Application by Airless spray output pressure 2500 - 3000 p.s.i.


Spray Tip Size 0.53-0.68 mm (21-27 thou)

Once the unit has been mixed it must be used within the working pot life specified.

Brush / Roller - Repairs and stripe coating - Typically 75-100 microns

Cleaning solvent. All equipment must be cleaned thoroughly immediately after use with Pracsolv EP

VOC 220 g/litre

Shelf life: 24 months from date of manufacture when stored in the original sealed containers at 20°C.
