Rodic's Diner. Rodic's Diner, which was established in 1949 close to the
University of the Philippines Diliman, has been popular for tapsilog - a
traditional Filipino breakfast food consisting of beef tapa, garlic fried rice
(sinangag), and a fried egg. Rodolfo "Rodic" Tecson founded the diner, which
was fast to become a favorite haunt for students and locals looking for cheap
and filling meals.
CP Garcia Avenue. Named from Carlos P. Garcia who was the fourth
President of the Philippines that served 1957-1961; who was popular with his
policy of "Filipino First Policy", which basically aims to boost Filipino firms and
industries, CP Garcia Avenue passes by Quezon City, thereby connecting
communities and other estates, considered as a key road around those
residential areas. Such a name signifies the recognition and appreciation he
gave to this country that helped Philippine politics and helped the advocacy
on nationalistic economic policies.
3. What is it known for as of now? What is its function in the present day?

local culture. Often visited by students from the University of the Philippines
Diliman, this diner offers a comfort food destination because it provides good,
affordable meals. It develops community ties because this is the kind of place

4. Do people use it? If so, how many people/ vehicles utilize the element? (rough

6. Does the city/municipality have a high value for image-ability? Can it be easily
remembered? Can a user easily have a mental map of the place?
The city does give value to the place. In fact, this upcoming December 7,
a food and music festival will happen on Maginhawa Street. The roads are colored
with rainbow geometric shapes to signify Quezon City’s inclusivity and it also
serves as a marking to where the festival will happen.
This contrast based on time goes to show how this place is more than just
a street but a place where people spend their time after working hours with their
loved ones or even with themselves. This place is an “escape” where people just
enjoy eating and treat themselves with good food.
