Introduction
Complete this lab exercise to practice what you learned in the “Exploring Cisco EPN Manager” section of this
course. In this activity, you will learn how to prepare the server for use.

have full access to all the virtual machines depicted in the figure, in order to perform the structured labs or to
experiment with if you want to do so.

Command List
This lab guide uses the following conventions for command syntax:
boldface
Commands are in boldface and Courier New typeface.
Courier New
brackets ([ ]) Indicates optional element. You can choose one of the options.
Example:
(config-if) frame-relay lmi-type {ansi|cisco|q933a}
italics font Arguments for which you supply values are in italics.
angle brackets In contexts that do not allow italics, arguments for which you supply values are enclosed in angle brackets [<>]. Do
(<>) not type the brackets when entering the command.
Example: If the command syntax is ping <ip_address>, you enter ping 192.32.10.12
Indicates that you enter one of the choices. The vertical line separates choices. Do not type the vertical line when
vertical line (|)
entering the command.
Example: If the command syntax is show ip route|arp, you enter either show ip route or show ip arp, but not both.
Activity Procedure
Complete these steps:
Step 1
Click the Jump Host icon in the topology diagram.
Step 2
To access your Cisco EPN Manager server, open the Google Chrome web browser and click the Cisco EPN
Manager bookmark (https://epnm-40.lab.local) on the toolbar.
Note
You may need to accept the security certificate to continue. For Google Chrome, click Advanced and then
choose Proceed to….

The Cisco EPN Manager Login splash screen is displayed. Note the hyperlink for viewing installed updates.

Step 4
Log in as the user root with the password Pass1234.
The Cisco EPN Manager Desktop is displayed.
The Settings > Getting Started page is displayed. If this page is not shown, click the Gear icon in the upper-
right corner and choose Help > Getting Started.
Step 5
Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and notice the available tasks, including the ability to change your
password and to log out.
Step 6
From the Settings > Getting Started page, click Save and Launch Homepage under the Network Summary
Dashboard. This action temporarily sets your home page to this dashboard.
You can set any page as the home page by navigating to it, clicking the Gear icon in the upper-right corner, and
choosing Set Current Page as Home.
Step 7
Click the Main Menu icon (a circle containing three lines), located in the upper-left corner.
Step 8
You can lock the menu in the open position by clicking the Pin icon; otherwise, it closes after each selection.
Step 9
Click the Gear icon at the top of the menu (next to the Pin icon).
Step 10
Click the other icons at the top of the menu to review their purposes.
Step 11
With the Category (or outline) icon selected, choose the various menu categories to see the available tasks.

Step 12
Click the Dock icon (the square box outline) on the upper right of the desktop. Notice Links Visited. Return to
the menu and navigate to several different tasks. Then return to the dock and notice how the list has changed.
Step 13
Click the Getting Started link in the dock’s Recent Links Visited list (if it is still there) to examine another
method of quickly navigating.
