Title: Guidelines and Code of Conduct for Membership in the


Dolorians Youth Ministry

Preamble of the Dolorians Youth Ministry

We, the members of the Dolorians Youth Ministry, under the


guidance of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, firmly rooted
in our faith in Jesus Christ, inspired by the life of the Blessed Virgin
Mary, and united in service to God and our community, solemnly
commit ourselves to this mission.

We strive to uphold and live out the teachings of the Catholic


Church, foster spiritual growth, and cultivate love, respect, and
compassion among our members. Through worship, service, and
fellowship, we dedicate ourselves to the holistic development of the
youth as faithful stewards of God's creation, actively contributing to the
evangelization of our community and beyond.

In unity and humility, we pledge to embody Christian values,


promote peace and justice, and strengthen our devotion to our Church
and our neighbors as we journey together in faith, hope, and love.

Section 1: Formation Period All aspirants seeking membership in the


Dolorians Youth Ministry must undergo a formation period to develop
spiritual, moral, and service-oriented qualities. The formation period is
as follows:
1. Duration: Six months to one year before formal induction.
2. Spiritual Development: Active participation in spiritual activities,
such as daily rosaries, masses, retreats, and bible study sessions.
3. Character Development: Guidance on humility, self-discipline,
and communication through mentoring and workshops.
4. Service Orientation: Participation in church activities and
voluntary assistance during parish events.
Section 2: Characteristics of a Servant

1. Faithful: Strong adherence to Catholic teachings and love for God


above all.
2. Compassionate: Empathy and concern for the well-being of
others.
3. Self-Disciplined: Ability to exercise self-control and maintain
proper decorum.
4. Communicative: Open and respectful communication with
officers and fellow members.
5. Responsible: Fulfillment of duties and obligations as a member.
6. Respectful: Honoring the sacred spaces, images, clergy, and fellow
members.

Section 3: Rules and Regulations

1. Love God Above All: Honor God in thoughts, words, and deeds.
2. Be a Catholic and Follow the Teachings of the Church: Live by
the doctrines and sacraments of the Catholic Church.
3. Be a Human: Exhibit kindness, humility, and good moral
character.

Section 4: Sanctions for Violations The following are sanctions for


violations of the rules:

First Offense: Verbal Warning or Counseling Second Offense:


Disciplinary Action Third Offense: Two-Week Suspension, Cleaning
Services, and Bible Verse Reflection Paper

Section 5: Specific Guidelines and Sanctions


1. Communication:
 Always communicate decently and saintly inside and outside the

church.
 First Offense: Verbal warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension, cleaning services, and reflection paper


2. Seeking Approval:
 Always consult officers before initiating any liturgical or event-

related activity.
 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

3. Presentability:
 Maintain a presentable appearance and be a role model.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

4. Volunteering:
 Be proactive in helping other members.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

5. Respect for Mistakes:


 Respect fellow servers who make mistakes during mass.

 First Offense: Warning and meeting with DYM president

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

6. Self-Discipline:
 Maintain self-discipline, decency, and control.

 First Offense: Warning and meeting with DYM president

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

7. Respect for Sacred Places and Items:


 Treat sacred places and items with reverence.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

8. Meeting Etiquette:
 Raise your hand to speak during meetings.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension


9. Personal Conduct:
 Avoid rude, greedy, or selfish behavior.

 First Offense: Warning and meeting with DYM president

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

10. Timeliness:
 Arrive on time for meetings and events.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

11. Phone Use:


 Silence phones during mass and meetings.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

12. Respectful Address:


 Use proper terms when addressing seniors.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

13. Appropriate Boundaries:


 Maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid being too touchy.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension

14. Humility and Catholic Teachings:


 Follow the teachings of the Catholic Church.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

15. Godly Presence:


 Allow others to experience God through your actions.

 First Offense: Warning or counseling

 Second Offense: Disciplinary action

 Third Offense: Suspension


Section 6: Liturgical Conduct
 Respect the Holy Mass and observe proper gestures such as

genuflecting and kneeling.


 Maintain reverence during all church activities.

 Follow Canon Law, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the

General Instruction of the Roman Missal.


Section 7: Hygiene
 Maintain proper hygiene before attending church activities.

 Take regular baths, wash clothes, and ensure oral hygiene.

 Use deodorant and maintain a proper haircut.

Section 8: Responsibilities of Members


 Fulfillment of Duties: Responsibly fulfill assigned tasks and

obligations during church activities and events.


 Attendance: Attend all scheduled tasks, activities, and meetings.

o Members who accumulate 10 absences will no longer be

allowed to serve during Simbang Gabi, feast masses, and


novena services.
 Punctuality: Arrive on time for all activities and meetings.

Chronic tardiness may be counted as absences.


 Respect for Church Facilities: Avoid using church facilities for

unrelated activities. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within


sacred spaces.
 Appropriate Dress Code: Wear modest and appropriate attire for

church activities, following guidelines provided by the ministry.


 Communication: Notify the designated officer or leader in

advance in case of absence from any scheduled event or task.


 Behavior: Uphold respectful and courteous conduct during all

church-related activities.
o Avoid gossip, conflicts, and inappropriate discussions.

 Technology Use: Silence mobile phones during masses, meetings,

and other spiritual activities.


 Service and Initiative: Volunteer proactively for tasks without

waiting to be asked. Be a role model of service and dedication.


 Respect for Hierarchy: Follow instructions given by the DYM

officers, priests, and pastoral leaders with humility.


 Time Management: Prioritize church responsibilities while
balancing other obligations.
 Spiritual Devotion: Regularly participate in prayer sessions, daily
rosaries, and other spiritual activities to deepen faith.
 Accountability: Accept corrections humbly and be willing to
improve when reprimanded or advised by leaders
 Attend all scheduled tasks, activities, and meetings.
 Members who accumulate 10 absences will no longer be allowed
to serve during Simbang Gabi, feast masses, and novena
services.

These guidelines and regulations aim to cultivate holiness, discipline,


and service-mindedness among the members of the Dolorians Youth
Ministry.
