Checking the tank
- Loosen the powder by covering the extinguisher with a clean cloth and turning it upside
down several times.
- Check the quality of extinguishing agent. There should be no lumps and good
fluidity.
- Unitor specification: Powder – renew as necessary based on condition monitoring
(check for absence of lumps / absence of moisture / acceptable fluidity). Also please
follow the flag state regulations for the replacement of the powder”. However it is
recommended that the powder is changed after 10 years of service in the
extinguisher

REFILLING
Refill the clean extinguisher with the type and quantity of powder indicated on the extinguisher.
Remember: The powder charge has a tolerance of ±2%.
Never replace ABC powder with BC powder or vice versa. The mixture would give off a large amount of gas.
CAUTIONS: Empty and refill the powder in a room with the same relative temperature and humidity as the room in
which the extinguisher is usually located.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR TROPICAL COUNTRIES
Place the cylinder on scales and tare it.
At a refilling station, vacuum out all of the powder and sift it.
Weigh the powder charge. Stay within the tolerances.
If the charge is below the tolerance, empty the extinguisher completely and change the powder,
If the charge exceeds the tolerance, remove the excess powder.
After cleaning and drying the extinguisher, fill it with the sifted powder.
Immediately cover the cylinder opening with a clean cloth.

Reassemble the headcap as quickly as possible.
