CHANGING THE POWDER (method to follow if no filling station is available)

Reminder: First loosen the powder well.
- Get a garbage bag.
- Open it completely and place it over the top of the cylinder all the way to just above the mounting bracket.
- Wrap a strap with a buckle around the cylinder. Do not cover the clasp on the extinguisher with the bag.
- Turn the extinguisher upside down. The bottom of the bag should touch the floor.
- Let all of the contents empty into the bag.
- When the cylinder is empty, hold the bag straight and loosen the buckle on the strap.
- Close the bag and tie a knot.
- Fill the extinguisher as indicated below.
REFILLING
After emptying the extinguisher, refill it with the type and quantity of powder indicated on the side.
The powder charge has a tolerance of ±2%.
Never replace ABC powder with BC powder or vice versa. The mixture would give off a large amount of gas.
CAUTIONS: Empty and refill the powder in a room with the same relative temperature and humidity as the room in
which the extinguisher is usually located.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR TROPICAL COUNTRIES
Place the cylinder on scales and tare it.
At a refilling station, vacuum out all of the powder and sift it.
Weigh the powder charge. Stay within the tolerances.
If the charge is below the tolerance, empty the extinguisher completely and change the powder,
If the charge exceeds the tolerance, remove the excess powder.
After cleaning and drying the extinguisher, fill it with the sifted powder.
Immediately cover the cylinder opening with a clean cloth.
Reassemble the headcap as quickly as possible.
