General Instructions:
i) All the questions are compulsory.
ii) This question paper consists of four Sections viz. sec-A, sec-B, sec-C and sec-D.
iii) Section-A contains 6 questions each carrying 1 mark, section-B contains 6 questions
each carrying 2 marks, section-C contains 10 questions each carrying 3 marks and
section-D contains 8 questions each carrying 4 marks.
iv) In question no - 30, drawing should be as per the measurements given in the question.
v) Drawing should be neat & clean.
vi) There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in four
questions of 3 marks each and three questions of 4 marks each. You have to attempt
only one of the alternatives in all such questions.
vii) Use of calculators is not permitted.

SECTION – A
1. Find a rational number between 2 and 3.
2. Verify whether the following is a zero of the polynomial, indicated against it.

9. The total surface area of a cube is 486 cm2. Find its volume.
10. If a line intersects two concentric circles with centre O at A, B, C and D, prove that AB = CD.
11. Find the value of k if x = 2, y =1 is a solution of the equation 2x + 3y = k.
12. 1500 families with 2 children were selected randomly and the following data were recorded.

help of Euclid’s axioms and postulates
a) If AB = PQ and PQ = XY then AB = XY.
b) If two circles are equal then their radii are equal.
c) If x = y then x – a = y – a

18. In fig-IV, if x + y = w + z then prove that AOB is a line.

Prove that the sum of the angles of a triangle is 1800.
19. In a triangle LMN, O is the mid-point of median LP. Show that ar(MOP) = ¼ ar(LMN).
OR
Show that the diagonals of a parallelogram divide it into four triangles of equal area.
20. The perimeter of a triangular field is 540cm and its sides are in the ratio of 25:17:12. Find the
area of the field.
21. A cylindrical pillar is 50 cm in diameter and 3.5m in height. Find the cost of painting the CSA
of the pillar at the rate of Rs.15 per m2.
22. A hemispherical tank is made up of an iron steel 1cm thick. If the inner radius is 1m, then
find the volume of the iron used to make the tank.
OR
Dome of Tajmahal needs to be painted. If the circumference of the base of the dome is
17.6m, find the cost of painting it, if cost of painting is Rs 5 per 100 cm 2.

23. In a mathematics test given to 15 students, the following marks (out of 100) are .
recorded: 41, 39, 48, 52, 46, 62, 54, 40, 96, 52, 98, 40, 42, 52, 60
Find the median and mode of this data.
24. Below are the marks obtained by 30 students of a class in Maths test out of 100. Make a
frequency distribution table for this data with class interval of size 10 and draw a histogram
to represent the data.

26. Prove that the quadrilateral formed by the internal angle bisectors of any quadrilateral is
cyclic.
OR
If the non-parallel sides of a trapezium are equal, prove that it is cyclic.
27. In fig-V, diagonals AC and BD of a quadrilateral ABCD intersect at O such that OB = OD. If
AB = CD then show that
a) ar (DOC) = ar (AOB) b) ar (DCB) = ar (ACB)

28. a) A taxi fare in a city is as follows: for the first km, the fare is Rs.10 and for the
subsequent distance it is Rs.7 per km. Taking the total distance as x km and total fare as
Rs.y, construct a linear equation for this information and draw its graph.
b) If the point (3,4) lies on the graph of the equation 3y = ax + 7, find the value of a.
OR
Give the geometric representation of 2x + 7 = 0 as an equation
i) In one variable
ii) In two variables

29. Locate the points in the Cartesian plane.

30. Represent √ 8.5 on the number line and verify it.
